All I can think is... Why would someone take a photograph of an image on their computer?

So we can't check the metadata to see whether the picture is real.... ;)

I was just looking at some storm pictures online -- a significant portion of the country got whacked. Wow.

Because it's too cold to go outside and take it, silly!

 Because I was at work, the image came via my job's email, and my job's computer does not have the internet. So I took the pic with my cell, txted it to my own email, and posted it from home when I got back.

 Sorry, Fist. I assumed you'd found/received it like that - didn't expect there'd be such a reasonable explanation!

I was going to post this today!! You beat me to it.

Anyways, that's the snow in Japan. I can't remember the island. I will have to find the article sometime when I'm not lazy.

No way do I believe that's real. What snowplow is that high? And big sections of it would be falling down onto the road all the time, instead of it being all perfect like that.

LOL! Well, we get snow that deep on the Mountain every winter...

Not that Dad can plow it that perfectly...we usually have mini mountains of it all over the yard after he's done plowing and digging.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Nah. I can believe it. My dad lived in Newfoundland when he was a kid. He got snowed in at school for 3 days one time. The snow came up to the second floor.

I know they have HUGE snow blowers. He used to say sometimes he'd see mangled dog carcasses that got chopped up in the snow blowers. I think they use backhoes to clear the snow, as well.

I still can't find the article I saw it in, though. Weird.

Our pipes are frozen.
Our toilet won't flush with the snow we melted because the sewer lines froze too.
I had enough foresight to stock us up with firewood for four backbreaking hours.
Not much hope of thaw until saturday.
We can't wash dishes so our house is wreck.
We're getting cabin fever.
My car has all wheel drive, but the radiator is shot.
And there is a severe medicinal problem I won't mention.
My parents are 200 miles away cause my mom almost died, and my brother expects me to drive there and pick them up when we have our own problems.
best winter ever!

BTW the water took six hours to melt and our stove runs on propane, but is configured for natural gas, so soot and some vile, burning fumes filled the house that day!

..I have to put on a coat everytime I go out for a cigarette at work..Any colder and I don't what I would do. It didn't get out of the 40's for two days in row. The good news is that its supposed to hit 52 today. Thank Goodness!
