Elohimfest

Post by perpetualchange »

Ok full-on lurker over here, havent posted in idk...2 maybe 3 years. bonus points to anyone who remembers the name or avatar or what the name is attached too :)

I plan on attending the elohimfest as its kind of my bucket list(might as well start early)to meet SRD. My only question is about pricing...I can see paying for a hotel and meals and such, any cost to attend the actual event itself, or any limit to the number of books he usually signs? (I would like to get all 9 done if at all possible) thanks

Welcome back! Of course I remember you.
I just saw Yes with Benoit David :( and Oliver Wakeman :) (a shame he is leaving the group) in Orlando a few weeks back. The musicianship was as high caliber as ever, but Jon is still missed.

As far as a limit to the number of books signed, I don't believe there was one at the 2007 elohimfest. DW for sure had a lot of books with him, but I don't know if he had all of them signed.

Have you been to the other thread regarding elohimfest over in General SRD Discussion? Ah yes, I see you have. Hopefully your questions will be answered there. :)

Wayyyy off-thread topic but I was unaware Oliver was leaving and yes I'm in the "Benoit David will more then suffice (hee-hee love using that word) til Jon can give it another go" camp there

Yes is releasing a new album this summer, and apparently it was recorded with Geoff Downes, who has officially rejoined the group for that album and tour. The album is being produced by Trevor Horn, so no real surprise that Downes returned, heh.

Squire recently gave an interview where he said they will want to spend at least a year on tour promoting the new album with Benoit David as lead, before they'll even consider asking Jon to come do any "guest" vocals...

*my apologies also for OT. I don't know if perpetualchange is still visiting Vespers, so figured I would reply here*

This off-topic-ness is very discouraging. Very discouraging, indeed. This Yes stuff (or is it Yesstuff?) Belongs in Vespers, so I might be able to see it. Now I'll never know about Oliver's departure, or the new Yes cd!

BTW, perpetualchange, you should be getting 23 books signed (or are there more?), not a measly 9!

Yesstuff....very clever. Oooo I do have his "Reave the Just and other tales" book which is most excellent as well, but I have never read the Mordants Need series or his sci-fi writings.

I will have to dig through vespers starting right about now-ish.

:) Thank you, that e-mail about Elohimfest got my interest re-kindled. Thanks to whoever sends out those things. I am around 90% sure I will be going at this point, but once I am completely sure I will let you all know

There is also his "Man Who" series, and another compilation, called Daughter of Regals.

Rock'in Good Times

Post by RoomToGrow »

Thank you so very much for the invite. My heart began to race faster and faster as I read the post! I so very much would like to attend and experience everything possible @ this event. My mind races as to how to get it done. I am a main witness to an airplane accident and my deposition is on June 9 (my birthday turning 46!) Naturally I plan to take the fast car, so I can cruise over to AZ. This is the first I am knowing of it this year, and I must go bury my head and think...think...think as to how I can make this happen.
I do hope all of you enjoy!
I do hope I can figure a way!
Again, thank you for the heads up and all. You people Rock!
