Oh look, I was just having some trouble figuring out something to do with Buriax' turn. Now I don't have to.

My players always do the right thing at the right moment to make my life easier. :)

Okay, so... while on the train, I did up all the emails to everyone, and they sat in my outbox, cause I wasn't done with EVERYONE.

They all just sent, when I got online now, but I still have one player left to do. Then I need to update the public knowledge.

So, for those who got your turns, enjoy, but give me a day to catch the rest of the stuff up before you start posting based on them.

Also, how do we feel about going with the original deadline of this Sunday? I'd be okay with the following Sunday instead, if people preferred. Either way, I'll aim to have Turn 3 results out by September 4th. ("Gee Goaty, when you put it like that, let's submit turns by the 21st instead of the 14th. There's no downside for the players.")

I'll struggle for the 14th, especially considering my results! Hopefully get turn in well before 21st though.

Wait, what's wrong with your turn?

I spent at least 30sec on that.

I got my asbestos britches and my Teflon jacket. Your words cannot touch me.

But I still don't know what you didn't like about your turn.

He didn't say he didn't like it. I think he meant he'd be able to manage a turn that soon because results were good, and would be easy to work with.

Okay, so perhaps your words can touch me.

I'm really secretly fragile, and anything other than glowing praise just makes me freeze up and collapse like one of those goats.

I've just got to get my head round the rules - being able to spend the sin that you earn by your actions in the turn you are submitting. Sounds simple - except might lead to all sorts of repercussions.

Yeah, it's sure different than what we're used to, eh? :D You could, I guess, harvest a bunch of sin, use it all right away, and have none left to start off the next turn. But, of course, you could do the same each turn, since, once you figure out how to harvest it, you can reasonably expect to have some every turn. You just won't know how much you'll harvest as you're using it.

So, my thinking (and I'm open to debate here) is that since the turns are 10yrs long (totally an arbitrary number on my part, but work with me here), it's a little silly to assume that you cannot spend in year 4 the sin that you collected in year 2.

However, since this is a turn-based game, having a rule based on a reasonable expectation of real life might actually needlessly complicate things. As I ponder the implications, I imagine a scenario where someone submits a turn assuming the collection of the "regular" amount of sin (the same as the last four turns or whatever), plans to spend that amount... but the reprecussions of someone else's turn might mean that the first person only harvests a fraction of that much... or none at all (0/4 is still a fraction...)

So, if the uncertainty becomes a logistical problem, we'll adjust the rules accordingly. I really like the uncertainty, from the point of view of being true to reality (which is amusing in a fantasy game). But I'm willing to sacrifice realism for efficiency if things fall out that way. Just let me know how it's working (or not) for you.

Reminder: turn deadline is Sunday, August 21st. I'll have results back by September 4th.

I have received submissions from 3 players so far.

Make that three players. (I got another one, but one of the original three wanted to change something.)

Do the rest of you want to submit anything?

Please?

I now have five turn submissions. I expect to start processing turns on Sunday, and things are still quiet enough that I should be able to crank them all out pretty quick.

What this means is that anyone who hasn't submitted a turn by the time I finish processing... misses turn 3.
