"If this Mariah is here, go ask her now. If she's not, call her, get her here. If this short guy is some sort of foreigner and he's threatening to poison kids, I want this one before homeland security and the feds comes in and fu, er,"

He remembered the hysterical child and finishes "takes over my investigation."

[Find Mariah. Not sure if policy lets us go down to the precinct, or if the artist would need to come here. Maybe if my friend on the force is around she'd be okay, too.]

[There is policy to cooperate with the police unless it endangers the children. Mariah arrives having heard something on her police scanner at home. There is a short thanking of the cops for speedy arrival.]

Unless Meli has something to add, this will close the scene.

The agent whispers in Meli's hosts ear, and nods.

The police escort you both and one hysterical child outside. The young cop behind the wheel is on the verge of soiling his trousers when he sees the two ladies.

The foot patrol guys brief him about the situation, he nods vigorously. All three ladies (2 Hosts and one child) are put into the backseat, and head down to the station.

The radio crackles with number and letters in short bursts, like shorthand. The driving cop almost runs a red light staring into the rearview mirror, you both notice it has been adjusted to get both of you in his field of vision. He doesn't talk, nor even respond to any chatter, and seems to be ignoring the radio.
