Martian Manhunter

I am currently intrigued by the Martian Manhunter. Not specifically because he is green like dw, but mostly because (except for that annoying Kryptonian) he is the only male founding member of the Justice League (as defined by the now-defunct Cartoon Network animated series Justice League) that I have not yet portrayed in a Halloween costume--- Flash, Batman, and GL...I took license and did HJ instead of JS, a) to be true to my ethnic background, and b) because it was easier.

This Halloween I will be changing that, with what I hope is an over-the-top MM costume, complete with a custom-designed costume, foam latex face prosthetics, and red sclera contact lenses. It also involves a ridiculous amount of green latex body paint, and precious little clothing.

If the assembled results aren't too embarrassing or scandalous, I might eventually attempt to post a pic.

It can't be as scandalous as when you dressed as Wonder Woman 3 years back..........

You looked very sexy that Halloween, BTW.

Well, I don't t-h-i-n-k that was me, but you never know. Amnesia happens. So does rum.

Despite that, once there are no new male JL members to Halloween as, I may have to resort to Wonder Woman, or other superhero drag options - but only if I can convince some others to do so as well - never drag alone.

I guess I need to know why Martian Manhunter hunts men. Is it, like, in a "It's Raining Men" kind of way? Or in a Dog the Bountyhunter kind of way? Or is he trying to feed his family?

Well, his family is all deceased, killed by the White Martians, so no worries about support.
He isn't into musicals, either, as fas as I know.
IIRC, he was always portrayed as an analog to Superman, with flight and strength. He has telepathic powers, can phase out of reality and become invisible, or both, and he can shape change. Way better than supes, but his natural color is green - and it's not easy being green.

I can't seem to find any pics that show a close-up of the eyes - which is a shame, because while the green attracted people's attention from a distance, it was the red eyes that really freaked 'em out up close.

And I'm happy to say that a total of 5 people actually recognized the character at the main Halloween party.

MM just isn't well known outside of geekdom - but 5 people was 4 more than I expected.
