Batty learned while we were in England that what we call a "grilled cheese sandwich" here is often called a "cheese toastie" there. So when she went to Ireland with her college choir, she ordered a cheese toastie at a pub. Her fellow choir members wanted to know how she knew to ask for that.

Yeah, I saw that on Facebook.

Someone needs to point out it needs to be moved to a month where there is no chance of it falling during Passover... ;)

Is it still Passover? Y'all have long holidays.

Clearly the National Grilled Cheese Day lobby is made up of goyim...

Passover is an eight day long festival, ali. First two nights and days and the last two nights and days are chag, pretty much the equivalent of the weekly Shabbes, where we are supposed to not use electricity or do work of any kind, what have you. Festive meals for dinner on those nights. The intermediary days are Chol Hamoed. We can work, go to school, go about our normal routines, but the food restrictions are still in effect.

The very observant won't eat something like my matzah lasagna until the very last night and day, even if it was made strictly kosher l'pesach (which mine is not). They do not wet or moisten matzah in any way the rest of the festival. That is referred to as gebroks. They serve chicken soup with kneidlach made out of potato starch instead of matzah meal the rest of the holiday, but I admit, the ones I've had at the local Lubavitch community seders are very hard to tell the difference between, they are that well made.

Well, I am *not* eating pizza. I was trying to catch up on the How-are-you-feeling-today thread and got as far as Sarge declaring his desire for pizza, and now I can't concentrate because *I* want pizza now, too.

I have nothing to eat right now. So sad. I can't leave the house because I am on self-imposed house-arrest until the drunkeness wears off :?

Just finished a bowl of Multi-Grain Cheerios and a banana. Sounded better in theory than in practice. Ah well.

I wish I'd thought to put the nanner in my cereal! I usually only do that for Rice Krispies.

Right now? Greek yogurt, plain. I am a warrior! :yeehaa:
