Regrets
My dad could've gone to see Pink Floyd in 1973 and Led Zeppelin that same year when he was living in Charlotte. But did he go? NO, he didn't!

Just checking, you know those Georgians
Then he should kick himself! Just glad I got to see them preform The Wall at Nassau Colliseum on Long Island. And the Allman Bros. with Duane and Lynrd Skynryd just before the plane crash and Yes debuting in the US with Tales From Topographic Oceans at the New Haven Colliseum in '73! Last eastern Zep tour, back in the day, was a little b4 my time...(and the Mahavishnu Orchestra 6 times! and the Dead with Jerry, and Zappa and...

My dad did see some great ones. He said he saw Grand Funk Railroad. Hmm . . . I'm pretty sure he saw The Who. He saw Janis Joplin, and I'm pretty sure he saw Eric Clapton when he was in Derek and the Dominos. I think. I need to call him and ask. He saw a bunch others, but I just can't remember. He used to wear a Beatles wig when they were bigger than Jesus.

Regrets?
That I did not even try to go to one of the The Wall concerts in 1980-81. Sure, living as I was behing the iron curtain it would not have been a simple thing, but still.
That I did not go to one of the David Gilmour solo concerts last year and the year before, in London. Sure, I have a few b**tlegs and have it on VHS, but still.
But I've seen the Floyd in 1994 and Roger Waters last year, two times, and have a signed Wish You Were Here CD cover by Waters, so there is something on the positive side also:-) And have enough PF material to last for me for a few decades:-)

I met the bass player from Coldplay about five years ago. We were in a club after one of their shows (they were supporting Terris, whatever happened to them?) and he was talking to a girl I was chasing at the time. I was introduced to him, but pretty much froze him out of the conversation.

I didn't say, nor imply, meaningless copulation. Did you think that's what Robin Williams was talking about? I'm talking about passion, love, completion, finding that which you cannot live without...

I waited too long to get a ticket to see celloist Glen Moore play at a club down the street from me. Tickets were all sold by the time I got there.
So what if it would have been the second time of seeing him? The guy combines traditional with electronic cello in a way that will have you jumping out of your socks.

The thing that does that for me just currently happens to be a Pink Floyd concert.Fist and Faith wrote:I'm talking about passion, love, completion, finding that which you cannot live without...

See, if you're in college and you're my dumb dad and you're going to "see a girl", then bleh, it's obvious. Why not take the girl to the concert and then have the "you complete me" jazz? Kill two birds with one stone.

Went out with her for a bit, then broke up when we finished university. Last time I saw her she was heavily pregnant and working as banqueting manager in the National Centre for Popular Music.Fist and Faith wrote:And what happened with the girl?
