The wisdom of Mhoram

Post by Soarback Grayhare »

"I am the High Lord," Mhoram affirmed simply. "I have no time for blame."
Oh, that all leaders felt that way.

What are your favorite quotes from Mhoram?
I walk a mile in your shoes
And now I'm a mile away
And I've got your shoes

"Everything that passes unattampted is impossible"

He's such a great character. No matter how hard I try I can never love the characters in the second or last chronicles half as much as I loved those in the first. There are many other Mhoram quotes i'm forgetting.. I must dig deeper.
"I am He, that arrogant fool who thought he could thwart death itself with his money."

When Hile Troy asks Mhoram whether he resents TC, that Lord replies "I have no special virtue to make me resent him. One must have strength in order to judge the weakness of others. I am not so mighty."
Love prevails.

"No one may be compelled to fight the Despiser. He is resisted willingly, or not at all. Unbeliever, I release you. You turn from us to save life in your own world. We will not be undone by such motives. And if darkness should fall upon us, still the beauty of the Land endures. If we are a dream-and you the dreamer-then the Land is imperishable, for you will not forget."
... for integrity.

"He has said to you that you are his Enemy. Remember that he seeks always to mislead you."
... for cleverness.

"It boots nothing to avoid his snares, for they are ever beset with other snares, and life and death are too intimately inter-grown to be severed from each other."
... for adagiality.

"You are bitter, and bitterness is a sign of concern. I trust that."
... for understanding. Actually this was Prothall, but I like it, and it could have been Mhoram, right?

Oh, if only there was a search function....

Anyway, such fertile ground is sure to get plowed many times.

Yea, Mr. Blushey was showing my shame at not using the search function. Now we have a Giant rubbing another Giants nose in it. Not very Giantish behavior. I must find a fire to rid myself of the grief.

Laugh. Laugh for me.

Eh? I was actually trying to help--sometimes people don't find things on this site or have problems with things like hotlinking images. :? Nevermind then, I guess.
