You know, the people who live in this place probably think the whole world is beautiful and colorful and magical like that. No wonder they believe in faeries.

So would that mean Elohim, Woodhelvennin or Tuatha dé Danann?

Well, what was that pastel-colored shirt with the slogan "I <3 Flower-Fairies" for? And the saucer of milk and cookies you placed on the doorstep every night?

And of course u. has inherited his cutesy genes from these fantastic creatures as well.

A few more, this time from one of my solohikes in the Burren. Walked from Ballyvaughan to Caherconnell ring fort in a rainy storm (c. 10km). Insane limestone (karst) formations; you cannot capture the feel of the land into a photo. Some shots of the Poulnabrone dolmen and the fort which held a very creepy atmosphere (more will be upped as I changed memory cards in the middle).
Scroll down past the cave to the greener vistas.

The views from the cliffs, the lichen pattersn on some of the rocks, and those curious gastropodic creatures are also of interest to my eyes.

Many thanks to ussusimiel and Frostheart for sharing!

FinnoGaelfest (Part Deux)

Frosty has been combing the northeast of this fair isle for prehistoric sites,
passage tombs, megaliths, standing stones, court tombs and steep inclines
for the last few days (I've been accompanying her, hence my absence from
the Watch). We have seen some fairly spectacular ancient sites and gone on
a couple of epic hikes. The weather was also spectacular and Frosty even
managed to get some sunburn in April! (She has taken an infinity of photos,
some of which will appear here sometime in the future )

She's currently in England where she is to meet up with Iolanthe
(tomorrow, I think) and I'm sure we'll get some updates of that at some
stage.

Here's a taster of some of the places we visited: Slieve League cliffs,
Errigal Mountain and Ben Bulben.
