I have tickets for the opener in Tulsa. First time seeing the first night of a tour - should be a blast :)
I saw the R30 opener at Starwood Amp. in Nashville. We were damn close, the nonsmoking section (even though outdoors ... nice) so the two people next to us left to watch from the lawn and smoke. My wife and I had 4 seats in a row to dance about and air drum (okay, we don't really air drum, but if we wanted to, we had plenty of room to do so!). It was awesome.

I'd like to hear "Time and Motion" and "Earthshine", though I doubt I'll hear either. I imagine they'll go heavier than normal on the pre-Permanent Waves stuff.....Which isn't what I want to hear. Frankly, I'd be fine with "Xanadu" and nothing else from that era.

It'd be really nice if they'd remove "Working Man" from their setlist.

Damn, that's not bad. I highlighted in blue the ones I love, and used red for the one's I'd prefer to skip. The rest I could enjoy or replace, either way. Maybe another from Counterparts like Cut to the Chase. Something else from Vapor Trails like Sweet Miracle, Ceiling Unlimited, or the title track. Some more Signals and Grace would be welcome, though we had a lot from the 80s last tour.

I still love Tom Sawyer every time. It's the best radio friendly song ever written, imo. I can't think of another "proggy" tune that is such a classic. Certainly no other radio hit with such fierce virtuosity.

CH, looks like you've gone chronologically by album, so I'll do the same. I wouldn't want to hear anything from the first 3 albums personally.

2112 Parts I & II
A Passage to Bangkok (this is a must!)
Xanadu
LVS (another must)
The Spirit of Radio
Freewill
Entre Nous (another must)
Red Barchetta
Limelight
Witch Hunt (I couldn't give up any of these 3 from MP)
Subdivisions
The Analog Kid
Red Sector A
Between the Wheels (Gotta have these 2 from P/G)
Marathon
Middletown Dreams

I wouldn't play anything from HYF.

The Pass
Dreamline
Bravado

I wouldn't play anything from Counterparts.

Driven
Half the World

I wouldn't play anything from VT.

Far Cry
Armor and Sword
Spindrift
BU2B
The Anarchist
Carnies (I doubt we'll hear much from CA)

Only two weeks from the start of the tour...

I hope they play Working Man, but not in the reggae/polka versions they have the last several tours. I want the original Working Man!

I would also love to see BU2B again - that song is killer live

As for the rest, I don't care, as long as it's 3 hours of awesomeness!

dlb - thank you for the list. if true, seems like a nice mix to me. (for my first ever show)

will start listening to the songs I am not up to speed on from the list.

does Rush employ an opening band?

my favorite Rush song is Time Stand Still. which has more meaning with every passing year.

Rush hasn't had an opening band since the 90s. They play their hearts out for over two hours, with only a break in the middle.

I've heard that this setlist is only the credits of the video show, i.e. the songs that have in-concert videos. So they'll probably play a lot more. That list looks short, even with the long songs.

The 3rd from the bottom is one fans have been wanting to hear live for decades. I've never seen them play it, and I haven't missed a tour since Presto (1989). It always comes up in fan wish lists.

TSS is a great song, Null. My wife can't hear it without tearing up. "Children growing up ..." "Old friends growing older." Damn.

Don't like the setlist at all, looking forward to seeing what the "B" night is. Literally, the only song I'm looking forward to is "Animate". F*cking "Working Man" again.....

And nothing from T4E. That's bullshit. DEW is the only song from P/G. That's bullshit too.

After the amazingly brave setlist from the last tour, this is Rush playing it safe. And that is a shitty way for them to go out.

I'll go further.....

Bad choice from Vapor Trails, and garbage "greatest hits" filler. I hate this. Granted, I've had a few beers, but this list makes me want to sell my tickets.

Nothing from Presto either. "Xanadu".....Yay. Seriously, yay. But that makes two songs I'm excited to see.

"Earthshine"? Hell yes. "Time & Motion"; I'll need a Wet-Nap. "Afterimage"? I'd have Neil's babies.

SO much filler. :?

I'm okay with One Little Victory (would prefer Ceiling Unlimited or Ghost Rider or The Stars Look Down) - and the selections from Clockwork Angels in general - Distant Early Warning (what, no Red Sector A?), and Animate - Roll the Bones is overplayed, but I enjoy it. Xanadu and Temples of Syrinx from Set 2... and Closer to the Heart. I'd redo most of Set 2 from the ground up. And the encore - really?

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

Jacob's LadderGoddamn, they sound awesome! This gave me goosebumps.

I think the setlist--especially B--is pretty good. Set Two is a fanboy's wet dream. I could do without RtB and Subdivisions, but otherwise it's all music I love. Jacob's Ladder is a real treat. Camera Eye was played two tours ago, but not much otherwise. Great song. I would have preferred Ceiling Unlimited over One Little Victory. How It Is is a very odd choice. Between the Wheels is okay, but I don't see why they keep playing it instead of others.

Geddy struggles on older material. What You're Doing sounds very slow. Awful version. I predict they won't keep that one in the setlist, not unless it gets better.

With Natural Science added into the 2nd set, this has gone from epic to ... what's bigger than epic? Cosmic! (I guess.) Man, I'd love to see this tour. Or, this tour 10 years ago, when Ged could still sing. I've tried listening to several shows, and even on the 'easy' part of songs like NatSci, Geddy warbles all over the place. Bless his heart for trying to sing all these old songs! But it's hours worth of cringe worthy moments. I'm not going to drive 5 hours and get a hotel room for this, no matter how epic or cosmic the setlist is.

I like how they're going backwards chronologically, hitting all the albums except the ones they emphasized last tour. (T4E doesn't count ... sorry Cail. :P )
