I am relieved to see that I'm not the only fan of the FireFly/Serenity series. I do believe that Nathan Fillion could play TC's darkness with little difficulty, plus he's not a real "name" (like Viggo Mortenson or Johnny Depp - both of which I believe could also pull off the role....) The bigger "name" actor chosen, the higher the production costs....

I also thought that Summer Glau (played "River" in Serenity/FireFly) would make a fabulous High Lord Elena in the later movies. Summer was a fabulous "crazy" in FireFly/Serenity.... She had that disconnected look down! :D
Incredible as it seems, my Life is based on a True Story.

Oh, also. Daniel Craig should be Mhoram. I think he has the "dangerous eyes" if you know what I mean. And how about Ryan Reynolds as Hile Troy??

TBH, I don't think he'd want to be associated with the rape scene, and I think he's associated TOO closely with Wolverine too, a 'Good' Classic Anti-Hero.

Daniel Craig has 'the right kind of eyes' surely, but I think Mhoram needs to be a 'Middle-Aged' man type and not a 'Buff' young Action-Man.

He's too old now I think but Anthony Geary would be great.
(yes, my wife has indirectly gotten me watching General Hospital)
I've seen many good story lines with him in it where he matched up quite well to what think TC looks like and acts like.

I also think Daniel Craig would be a good match too.

Hmmmmm. prob right about Jackman already being stereotyped. in my mine, he almost perfectly fits my conception of TC. and he has that sarcastic and gruff acting style. But Daniel Craig IS 43, and I think they could make him look more like Mhoram. Plus remember Mhoram "looks like" 30 in LFB and then 50 in TIW and TPTP. That will be tricky for anyone doing the acting and casting there.

Ayup First Mark...

Then yeah, I'd go for DC to be Mhoram. But I also like HLT's suggestion of Anthony Geary above as TC. Even though I don't know WHO he is. He has a grizzled, 'Phrophetic' look in the photo above, even with a suit on !

It's funny how differently people "see" the characters when they read a book isn't it? From the very first time I read Lord Foul's Bane, when I pictured Covenant in my mind I saw David Carradine. It's true. If you ever see "Kill Bill 2" again..look at Carradine in the last scenes of the movie..that face...the eyes...the hair...that guy looks like he's in pain...lol. Now think back to that old t.v. show "Kung Fu"...the young Carradine...find the Carradine in the middle...and picture Cain from Kung Fu...and make him really pissed off all the time...that's Thomas Covenant.

It seems to me, no offense to anyone, that a lot of people are suggesting REALLY old actors. Different people see different TC's, obviously, but he's supposed to be like 30 in the First Chronicles and 40 in the Second.

I wasn't actually suggesting the keith carradine play covenant in a movie...he is after all...dead...I was just saying that as I read the books, in my mind's eye, I always saw keith carradine...if they were to have made a movie back in the eighties I think he would have been perfect for the role....

"Do you feel lucky, Foul?"

I think Clint would make an excellently grizzled TC.

Nah, even if he was the right age, Clint's characters are always too confident to portray Covenant.

I'm not a big fan of Tenant as an actor, to be honest. Actually, I think it might be a problem with many Shakespearean actors. Something about the way they learn to act on stage that doesn't carry over well.

You know what's kind of funny? Whenever I see Christian Bale with his ridiculous beard, it kinda looks like what I think Foamfollower looks like.
We suffice.
