If LM and I did a sitcom together it would KICK A&&. :|

Yeah, that is a great idea. Which is why we did it last year. Heh. :P

Although, we can't really use that now, since the shop is gone.

But, I do have the early stages of a plan to give everyone who wins an award. I was thinking about putting something in their profile, in that big empty space. I just need to figure out an easy way to hack the board to do that.

So yeah, have no fear, awards should be given out.-jay

Question - Will each catagory have a brief description detailing what is actually being sought so that when nomination time comes we aren't simply inundated with inappropriate nominations.

Perhaps some sort of criteria for each catagory that the nominator needs to argue that the nomination meets.

Just an idea. :D

There will be guidelines.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

So, does this mean no food/recipe threads if we don't go with individual forum awards?

:::sigh:::

I'll still be happy for those who do win though...

Certain sub-forums will, by nature, end up getting their own awards. I see no reason not to have a 'best recipe' cateogry, just as I think there should be a 'best short story' and a 'best poem' category. They're pretty distinct entries, unlike, say, 'best post in a Steven Erikson forum' category (of course, if the moderators of any particular sub-forum wanted to host their own minor award in forum, I don't see how it could hurt or how anyone could stop them).

Hmm...

I guess my offer for Warmark to be a guinea pig for me to practice mailing baked goods and Esmer's and my reparte regarding that was considered off-topic in the nomination thread, as it appears those posts were deleted.

I only noticed because I was going to offer the opportunity to Esmer since it appeared Warmark never took me up on my offer. But, perhaps he never saw it before it was deleted.

So...

Warmark, are you willing to be a guinea pig to receive an occasional baked good package over the next few years as I try to perfect wrapping and shipping to send Beorn home made goodies when he leaves for college in four years? The goodies may arrive broken, crushed, or whatever until I figure out how to package them. But they should still taste OK.
