Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want
to test a man's character, give him power.

"Hey, dad," croaked the vulture, "what are you eating?"
"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"

Evenessence Fracture Wizardry
When Evenessence took the stage, the audience gratefully forgot the opening band. The lead singer’s voice soared, and a stage hand close to the speakers noticed a sudden fracture in his beer mug. Some technical wizardry had amplified the vocal quality to vibrate deep within the thick porcelain.

About that one line, what do you think of changing "now" to "are"?

The Miata is simply one of those cars you just don’t risk doing wrong. And Mazda didn’t. The automaker has clearly understood the delicacy with which any redesign of its beloved roadster must take place, and for this third-generation car it once again has used a light touch. At a quick glance, the car looks largely unchanged, but upon closer examination the subtleties of the styling begin to jell.
"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." - PJ O'Rourke

Freedom, New Hampshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Freedom is a town located in Carroll County, New Hampshire, near the state's border with Maine. The 2000 Census showed a population of 1,303. As of 2002, the population estimate from the Office of State Planning was 1,361.
The town used to be part of Effingham, New Hampshire, a part called North Effingham. Following an influx of new settlers from Maine, there were cultural and religious conflicts between the new settlers and its current residents. As a result, that part of Effingham was separated into a town of its own.
The town has been the setting of a couple of stories. It was the setting for a children's fantasy book called The Enormous Egg, published in 1956 and reissued years later (ISBN 0316119202). It was also the setting for a This American Life broadcast titled "The House at Loon Lake". That 2001 episode (www.wbez.org/ta/199.rm) described the exploration of an abandoned house in Freedom owned by the Nason family, by young boys in town for summer camp at Loon Lake.
Freedom is home to one of the sites of Nature's Classroom.

Gurgi
Pronunciation GHER-ghee
Physical Description Gurgi's body is covered with matted and tangled hair that frequently collects so many leaves that he looks "like an owl's nest in need of housecleaning" (BT3). He has "long, skinny, woolly arms, and a pair of feet as flexible and grimy as [his] hands" (BT3). He is characteristically surrounded by the pungent aroma of a wet wolfhound.

Yeah, but she was going to go to Rivenrock because of Amok.dlbpharmd wrote:Covenant was in some ways responsible for Elena's death; his bargain directly lead to the events at Rivenrock and beyond.
Okay technically Amok showed up because of Covenant..but he Confessed at Rivenrock, he told her about the deal, heck he even shaved!!
So why-oh-why does he blame himself? He blamed himself so much he wouldn't clean up the cut on his forehead back in the Real World.
I think Lurch hit it on the head
