I think it does, because we're trying to keep with the whole '2006' thing. Still, you can't really tell when an avatar was started, so maybe it doesn't matter. My current av, for instance, was my first dANdeLION one, from before Edge made me one.

A.) Should the avatar be new within the current voting year?

B.) Should it be the current one a member is using?

C.) Any other thing anyone can think of to avoid confusion.

I think you guys are making this needlessly complicated. Sure, it matters for a post because posts are made at a certain time, as are threads. Sure, an old thread might still be good, but that's one reason why to award posts and threads separately.

But an avatar? If you used the avatar in '06... go with it.
