Maybe Luci isn't entirely nuts after all. :P

:drevil: it is simply a matter of the mouse hand being elevated over the non-mouse hand, the proximity of non-mouse hand to bloodbearing heated skin source, and the often overlooked wrist pad that comforts the wrist, but indeed constricts the heat bearing bloodflow to the hand itself, which, additionally, is in contact with a synthetic substance that absorbs residual heat from the surface of the skin thru continual contact over a greater area of epidermis than keyboard/lap hand. Not to mention the heart, and aortas, are on the nonmouse side, the left, which is also where the pulse is taken due to the added pressure from proximity to said aortas, soooo, more blood, more heat!

Spock out!

always wait 10 minutes before you quote me, heh.....

I will add that it's in addition to the aforementioned mobility/dexterity disparities between the two hands as well. you don't use the whole hand with the mouse like you do the keyboard, I'm certain the wiggling fingers and such also encourages additional bloodflow to the region of the nonmouse hand.

:drevil: well, I'm certain that smoker's will report a higher incidence of the Lucimouse SyndromeTM due to the affected blood pressure co-efficient, and people who consume a diet high in sugar should report lower incidences, due to the added heat from the burning of the fructose coagulates. Pregnant women will invariably describe their symptoms as sensations of "pickles and ice cream", and will break down and cry because you "always hated their fat mousehand anyway". A cold draft on the head will also draw blood away from the extremities to the brain, overwhelming it in the process and causing a newly discovered affliction called Lucination Muridae, where you just think you're mousehand is cold because your head is so warm, and.....f-full. However, people who have had their mousehand amputated have reported a "ghost" sensation of their old mousehand feeling colder when they thought about using the computer, so it hasn't been determined as of yet whether this is an entirely psychotic phenomena or a bioethical one.

do you smoke Nav?
No, I don't smoke. I've also thought that the fingers of my non-mouse hand are retracted when I'm not typing, which is a more heat-efficient position than having them outstretched like I do on the mouse.

I still can't believe I'm the first person to ask him to do that, but it was worth it. Now I wield the Illearth Pen, enchanted by SRD's own hand! I'm still attuning my essence to it, but I'm hoping to smite one of my pickier clients with it in the new year.

Nav, I can't stop staring at your new avatar. :)

I had a chinchilla for several years.
It was in a huge wire cage (a 4'X4' cube) that he would run around in circles so fast it was like those motorcycle stunt riders that ride in a circular cage.

Hypnotic isn't it? I always remember watching the chipmunks at the pet shop doing loops in their cages, I pestered my mother for a pair relentlessly but she never caved in. I guess she knew how hard they'd be to catch when they got out!
