Yep, I respect their opinions. They have the right to 'em. And I have the right to say they're absolutely friggin' wrong. Or do I? Gotta check the Constitution, first . . .

I believe in life after death because energy cannot b destroyed. I believe in spiritual energy as well. What forms they take is another matter. I think any fear of death is fulite because, as Bill Cosby's grandfather told him when he asked if he was worried about senility, "No cause when I am I won't know it." :?

All right, okay. And I'm not arguing, just giving my viewpoint on the energy thing:

The energy that makes us up--makes our brains, our consciousness, and our awareness of being alive--are atoms. When we die, those atoms disperse. Yes, energy can't be destroyed, but energy could very well change from something that was aware of existence to a bunch of atoms, unaware of existence.

And I'm sorry if I acted like I "knew". Honestly, I don't know what death holds. Nobody knows. But the thing is, to say we know before we really do is to defeat ourselves--to stop ourselves short, when we could just about be grasping the truth, instead. I mean, if I told you "I know the moon is made of sand", then I'd not only be telling a lie but I'd have you believing it for maybe the rest of your life unless you found out better. We can't, as a people, settle for "I know", when there is much more of the picture to be discovered.

Well hey, that bodes all the better for my beliefs, then! :D (heh, ever since that last religion-debate thread we had so long ago, I've been secretly foaming at the mouth for a new one. This kind of stuff only whets my appetite! )
