Off-topic posts will likely end up directed to this thread, so if you're wondering where a post might have ended up, check here. Of course, if I have to do it too many times or am just plain annoyed, it might disappear altogether. Notice the lack of emoticons in this post.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Maybe...but I suspect Lurch would have a solid claim at the co-modship.sgt.null wrote:i should be mod of something. maybe a surrealism thread?
Sarge...threads don't have mods; fora have mods.

Anything you see that needs to be modded, Menolly, mod away. You know how I do, so... anybody gives you lip, tell 'em, "Syl's orders."

Nomination Rules
It's pretty simple. Every person can nominate one person for each category or second a nomination in each category (meaning you have roughly 20 nominations or seconds to give out).
One change this year: you can nominate yourself, but only in one category. That will take the place of your nomination or second for that category.
If you're nominating a thread or post, it always helps to provide a link.

It's only absent from the nomination and voting process. The award's already sewn up.

It's about learning to dance in the rain

i am honored lorin.
[mod edit] moved from the Best Poem thread, since it is not a nomination nor second post. I did edit lorin's post to include a link to the poem, per sarge's suggestion. ~m.[/mod edit]

Also, I've decided that since we're missing a year of Watchies, you can roll in nominations for 2010. It'll be like one big year (with the 2012 watchies a season away. yay!).

Meaning we make a great emulsion? I'm not sure my wife would approve.Savor Dam wrote:Seconding ussusimiel, who is definitely a 2011-crop new member. Tip of the cap to Vraith for the nom, since the two of them have been rather like oil and water at times.

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Oh cool!
but only one set of winners?
Keep in mind we do have the 2010 Spotlight thread, although I am uncertain if the categories mentioned fit in to this year's nomination threads.

I'm not good at this Watchy awards stuff. Never remember what happened last year, and I'm usually incapable of picking favourites in anything. Doesn't help that we can't search by date on this forum.
I have, though, been revisiting some interesting threads today*, though I still haven't found one I want to nominate.
(* These threads, for example.)
(Edit: Oh, and this older one was interesting. Disclosure: I started it.)

Yeah, just one set of winners. Although, one possibility is allowing any category that has a minimum of 4 seconded nominations to receive a 2010 Watchy as runner up. Thoughts?
