I third the sheep. Which, coincidentally, reflects the ratio of sheep to people in my beloved homeland.

No thirds?

Can I put forth a fourth (extra force?) for Cambo's thirds then?

What if I really want to vote for someone who already has a second? How about the second seconds?

And how are the winners selected, if two votes are the maximum possible, by the organizers of the Watchies?

This is only the nomination stage. If the person you wanted to nominate first already has been, use the chance to highlight someone else who deserves at least a nod.

First candidates need to be nominated and seconded. Then all those nominated and seconded will be voted upon to determine the winner

*shrug* Sure. I mean, what else are we going to do with all the 2010 plaques sitting in the supply closet?

I did not read the rules. You know what they say about men and instructions. Having read, the rules, I'd now possibly like to go back and second some people who have only been nominated once. Is this valid?

If you haven't already either nominated or seconded someone for that particular award, then go for it. ;)

Murrin, sindatur, aliantha, thanks for the clarifications.

I thought it could work as a way to promote specific candidates for winning. If the voting is a separate stage, question answered.

As for highlighting someone else - all the better for me, in most of the categories I'm more like torn with many variants hard to choose from. I could have a problem with the GT game one, because I only played Inferno and Aesir - IIRC, Aesir started in 2010, so I could only third Inferno, or say nothing. Since Syl added 2010 to possible for nominating, I can nominate it now.

Yeah, I wanted to nom a character from Acropolis 2, but the game started up January 2012, heh.

Um, Syl... There's no thread for Best Thread (SRD) or Best Post (SRD). Only the non-SRD sections.

Please do!
I'll gladly second.

As far as limiting "discussion," including "thirding" nominations, in the nomination threads, this is to make it easier for the mod who will put the ballot together to see which nominations have been seconded and thus eligible to move on. Otherwise, it would take forever to weed through all of the discussion posts in each of the threads.

The discussion thread is the place for nominations to be quoted and "thirded" or thanked, or whatever discussion a nomination generates as well as any other Watchy discussion.

Well fudge...

Upon recheck, Aesir launched on March 1st, 2009, so it is not eligible to be nominated.

However, Vanir started on August 5th, 2010, so it is eligible to be nominated.

Could we have a thread for "best dissection," or are we including those in "best SRD-related" this year?
