She is gorgeous tis true. I love Bender myself. Up there with Drool in the lust stakes, or Dick Van Dyke! (no, actually, nobody could compete with Dick).

Has anyone here seen Russian Ark?

An office roommate didn't like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, so she gave her DVD to me. :) I'm watching the extras now. It's an impressive cast, in addition to the lyrical visuals.

One of the hospital volunteers practically forced me to borrow Bruce Almighty. OK, I'm curious. So I'm going to watch that this weekend. Jim Carrey has a lot of untapped potential, I think; I prefer his serious movies.

Men.

A movie I would really like to get on DVD is Topsy-Turvy, the one about Gilbert & Sullivan. It was out on DVD for a few weeks, then retreated to VHS. Pretty amazing, when I see the ranks of forgettable old movies on DVD.

But no DVD shopping this vacation. :( I'm saving money.

Buffy's actually a very intelligent show with some deep characters and awesome plot arcs. And hot chicks.

That's good to hear. The intelligent parts of Buffy aren't so obvious to the channel-surfing watcher.

I got a sweet little portable dvd player a few days ago. It has two different power cords, one for the wall and one for a car cigarrette lighter -- and even has a back up battery, too. :) The kids and I are now ready for our huge three day long drive across the Great Plains to New Mexico for Elohimfest. :S

Heh, going in style, eh? Yeah, a portable DVD player is definitely the ultimate boredom killer.

Although I'd like to buy all the technological gadgets and such, I usually find myself without the cash, so I have to try getting stuff thats more... convenient. I use my PS2 for most DVDs, and my laptop can function as a portable, heh.
'Course, it doesn't matter much, since I have hardly any DVDs. I'm hoping I can work out how to copy my dad's Kill Bill Vol.1 DVD so I can have my own, if not I'm going to have to buy it.... I'll probably be buying Vol.2 anyway, so I suppose I could wait and buy a set... hmm....

Looks like a CD. A magical, movie-filled CD. With extras. And crisp picture and sound.

And you don't have to fast-forward a third of the way through the tape to get to the movie you want. And it doesn't have fragile, spindly parts that get tangled in the player's innards.

Well, Danlo, if your VCR breaks we will all sit in each other's laps and watch DVD's on my little portable player.
