Trailer for Eragon: the Movie

Post by Menolly »

I know, I know. Most here despise the books. But it may still make quite an entertaining couple of hours as a movie.

I do like Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich. I'll probably check it out on DVD.

So, this movie is due to be released in to weeks. Is anyone, other than my family, planning on seeing it in the theater?

I saw the trailer, looks, em, cheesy i thought.

And John Malkovich seems to comic and overstated to be taken seriously as a dark Lod type figure.

Hmm, undecided for me.

It has gotten terrible reviews. Basically everyone says its cheesy, and steals from other movies/books-just like the source material. I'll probably end up seeing it though. I liked the books pretty well for some odd reason.

I haven't read the books, but I'm in love with John Malkovich. So... I'll go see it. Maybe this weekend. I'll let you know how it is, Menolly.

A friend of mine says the books are great, but he read both Chronicles and said "meh" so what does he know.

And when I say terrible review I mean really bad reviews. The five I saw gave it like one out of ten so it must be really bad!

Yeah, but the movie isn't even out yet.

I usually wait for viewer reviews as opposed to critic reviews. I'll wait.

Beorn isn't giving me a choice, and since I also read the books I want to see how it turned out.

I was really hoping it would do well, as it might help the cause of getting the Pern novels on to film...

I may be forced to see this film, due to my kids, regardless of the reviews.

It looks gawdawful to me. How cliche is it for the kid to be sitting on a dragon and say, "Let's see what you've got!". Cue "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins! It's Top Gun on a freakin' dragon.

Yeah, yeah, rub it in........it's probably even rated "G", which means I won't even get the vital boobage that allows me to survive chick flicks like "Dangerous Liasons".

I've got no doubt that my daughter'll want to see it, so I'll be sharing your pain.

Oh my, what a visual.

I wasn't hoping it would be done the same way, but that a successful 'dragon' movie would get studios interested in another successful 'dragon' series...
