Dr. McCoy, City on the Edge of Forever. He's talking to a vagrant he runs into just after he appears on 1930's earth.

And then said vagrant disintegrates himself with a phaser I - great scene!

Well I'll take that as a confirmation.

How about this...

"What would it be like to be trapped for all eternity with a madman at your throat?" or something to that effect.

I remember that one! I forget the name of the episode. But it was two guys from alternative universes - but this alternative was anit-matter: if they met - BAMMMMM - end of both universes. So the good guy trapped the bad guy in the corridor between the universes to say everyone.

As I remember, he had a ratty facial hair!! lol

Correct. One of the most poorly edited and convoluted star trek episodes ever made. The Alternative Factor. Its fun to watch this episode to count how many times Lazarus falls down and hurts himself.

Blast you, Creator. My next clue was going to be. "I am for you Lieutenant Sulu."

Your clue is a comment in that same episode "That Which Survives" Scotty makes to Spock about getting coaxing the warp engines to haul butt.

One of my favorite lines. My wife and I quote this frequently. Don't know why so don't ask. :-)

"Be careful, android. Some Romulan beauty might take a liking to you! Lick that paint right off your ears."
