email notifications

Post by jwaneeta »

I seem to be having mucho trouble with email notifications lately. I saw the post about recent site maintenance, so I checked the email listed on my profile -- it's the current one. So I'm not really sure what's the matter.

Any suggestions for fixing this problem would be appreciated. :)

What exactly is the problem? Are you not getting notifications, or what? I don't see that the server's had any emails bounced from your address...

I seem to get some but not others, which is the weird part. It's not consistent. I just got a large batch of notifications for older replies... maybe it's just a lag having to do with my email service.

What I mean is, I seem to be getting notifications for replies at those topics after a day, three days, or sometimes not at all. The email is current and I can log in at KW, so it's not anything to do with that. I think it must be my email. I have no idea what I can do about it, so I thought I'd ask here, on the off chance it was something less likely but easier to fix on the KW side.

*headscratch* I guess I'll just have to live with it and hope it straightens itself out.

Hmm... this is more up Vain's alley. We did have major issues with the server being overloaded or something because people had too many email notifications going. That was resolved, but I'm guessing something's going on with the server again. Shoot Vain a PM about what's going on.

I'd like to know if anybody is having the same problem. I'm not sure if there's a problem on my server side if too many notification emails are set - or if the thing gets confused if there's a lot of replies to a watched topic. I think I'll just go scratch my head as well until the answer pops out

See edit. Your inhuman spine of anguish seems quite masculine. Or something. Nerdspeak. Yanno.

Don't worry, I'm not coming on to you online, it was just an expression of admiration from a nerd. :)

Finally !! A fellow nerd :) I finally made the change from my old avatar (which looked quite misplaced amongst the many cool ones to be found here) I think I shall stay with this one for a long time

Please to be joining me in San Francisco in April for the FBH party. I need to meet my fellow nerds, yo.

And we need to learn the common intrawebz speak, yo.

If I lived remotely close to the US then I'd be there for sure but living in New Zealand tends to make EVERYWHERE (except Australia but it doesn't count) a long distance destination.

Of course I obviously need to brush upon my intrawebz speak :)
