Thanks. But what I meant was - jokingly - I wish I could act like that here. ;)

I wish I could take credit for it, but it's from the short story "The Ugly Chickens" by Howard Waldrop. I read it on the SCI FICTION archives.
Hmm... Waldrop's name seems to pop up all over the place lately. I need to look into that (and he's been published by Small Beer, which gives me an excuse to put in a big order there).

I ran across this useful article on writing for publication. It isn't just for internet writers, where the writer modestly aims it.

This page will change, but for the moment it has some other interesting articles, including interviews with booksellers:

Thanks, DL. Those articles are very interesting. I can always use some helpful hints. :-)

How come this one only has ten submisions; while the last one had sixteen?

Drew, I expect it's because there was such a short period of time in which to make the deadline. If I remember right, there were quite a few more submissions for the first one -- also, fewer poems were selected this time.

But then, I'm not on the committee, so I'm guessing.

If I remember correctly, the word limit in the first one was 10,000 words, and in this one it was 20,000 words, so it's also possible that there are less stories because they're bigger (I know mine definitely is!)...

Who knows whether one day, the KW Anthology will be published in thirteen volumes because of the size of the stories and the amount of selected submissions... :P

Yeah. My story from Anthology I was 6,000 words, I think, whereas this one was maybe 9,000 or so. Or maybe they were the same size, I dunno. This one for Anthology II felt bigger, anyway.

For anthology 37, submissions should be under 250,000 words...

Braddock Pines is a couple thousand more words, Foul.

JC, with submissions like that, I'm going to need a truck to carry the stories to work with me.

At that point, we could call it the Kevin's Watch Encyclopedia... :P

As we do the final touch-ups on the editing -- yes, you heard me right :) -- there is one more thing for the authors to consider.

Do you want a bio to be included before your story? We have 3 authors who weren't in the A1 (Drew, Lucimay, Xar, congratulations), and A1 authors may want an updated bio before your A2 story.

It's your choice. If you want to do one, send it to me. I plan to finish the initial layout over the Thanksgiving weekend, so don't take too long deciding. ;)

I'll write a bio, but I wont have my name with 'Loremaster'.
