This coming weekend, I'm going to Bloodstock (pun on Woodstock, you'd have to hear the Derbyshire accent to understand) UK Metalfest, primarily to see Nightwish, though Paradise Lost will also be there, and local mob Invey are quite good

This weekend I'm seriously debating attending "Edgefest" the yearly blowout sponsored by the local headbager station. Syl and Hellfire might wish they were here too! Check out this lineup:
12 Step Rebels
Jet Black Summer
Socialburn
(hed) PE
Left Unsaid
Powerman 5000
Trapt
Static X
Mudvayne
Ki
V Shape Mind
Fingertight
and Albuquerque's own:
Anesthesia
Time4Change
and Abominant Race!

I hear Mudvanye's great, but I'd pay the admission price just 2 see Static X!! 8O
fall far and well Pilots!

PM5K are the only ones off that list I really like, though a band named Ki intrigues me.

There are really no bands on that list that interest me but it was probably worth seeing anyway.

Didja go didja go :?:

While we were in Ga we saw a Kiss cover band in a bar. It was HILARIOUS  It was in a bar and thier dressing room was right in the front part of the girl's bathroom. So I had to go in there while they were getting ready and I was all like "excuse me gentlemen" and holding my breath to the stench of hairspray. They put on a good show but it was late so we saw a few songs. They didn't play the only one I really like tho "Christine Sixteen" :R

I'm trying to post a link to my webfolder of concert pics but I have to get Syl to help.

my first concert was when i was 12, and i saw Sabbath with Dio, and Exodus opened...which was kinda weird, cuz i didnt really know much about them or listen to them until a few years later(exodus)...pretty odd pairing, too...

after that im not sure of the exact years...ive seen Jackyl twice..or maybe 3 times...Metallica once, with COC opening(killer show, but it was pretty much the end of Metallica for me...i believe it was in 96) kiss on their FIRST reunion tour...i got to see Megadeth, before they folded, with Iced Earth opening...one of my favorite shows...ive seen the Misfits twice, once with Graves with Ignite opening, and once after he quit, with Impotent Sea Snakes opening, during the Famous Monsters tour...I went to Ozzfest 97, saw Fear Factory, Type O Negative, Pantera, Sabbath and Ozzy..awesome show...Ozzfest 99 with Slayer, Rob Zombie, Fear Factory again and Ozzy...not as good as 97...

a couple years ago i saw Cradle of Filth with Nile opening...AWESOME show...one of my faves...ive seen Ted Nugent 4 times(his millenium show was awesome, 4 days before 2000) i saw Danzig last year...awesome show...hes one of my favorite vacalists/bands/dudes...a few months ago i saw Dying Fetus with Misery Index, Skinless, Divine Empire, which was my first death metal-exclusive show...awesome....

and Gwar...that was an awesome show...funny as hell

i really wanted to see the Maiden tour with Dio and Motorhead, but it came nowhere near Jacksonville(florida)...i wanted to see Amon Amarth with Vader Nile and Kreator this month, but its all the way in Tampa...bout 5 hours away...and nobody to go...that sucks...

and i dont think im going to be able to go see Slayer this month, either...

nothing ever comes down this way really...as far as shows go, it would be better if i was still living in Indiana...about 40 minutes from Chicago...

My first concert was Pat Benetar, I think. Either that or Rush, which I think I remember was my second one. Rush was much better.

I'm a classic rock fan and going to see R.E.O. Speedwagon this month.

First concert seen - Alice Cooper in '76 (Fantastic show!)
Last concert seen - Yes ('02)
Best concert - Pink Floyd (twice: Momentary Lapse Of Reason & Division Bell )
Worst concert - took my daughter to see New Kids On The Block (BARF!!!) Christmas Show

Worst concert line-up: Joan Jett, B-52s (who got boo-ed off) and the Who

Best concert line-up: Firefall, U.F.O., Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, & Heart

Most seen: (tie) Styx and Journey (3X each)

Oldest Group: not sure if it is Three Dog Night or Grand Funk Railroad

Seen Van Halen open for Black Sabbath in '77
(Van Halen was an unknown act then)

Eric Clapton in 1980
Alan Parsons Project - twice

(And the list goes on.... seen so far 41 concerts)

Ok, it was sunday, but I did see APC - very good, very very good. Supported by Melissa Auf der Maur, who was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much, but she was actually pretty decent.

Craig Carothers is going to be here March 19, the evening that begins my vacation. I need to stop procrastinating and call for a ticket.
