Awesome, DPJ! Your poetry is a gem of the Watch, it stands out and shines :D

Fisty, thanks for showing a good example, I guess I couldn't say it like this... under certain other circumstances :)

<puts fingers in mouth and whistles>

Although I am a Giant and will not ride, I long to tell my tales to a being as strong as myself. I've wandered alone for many human lifetimes, and need to pour out my woes of back pain and sore feet. Joy is in the ear's that hear, and surely a being a strong in Earthpower as a Ranyhyn will whinny in happiness and ease my burdens. :cross:

Ah, but mysteries beshroud the Plains, and within those unknown murky depths, the sheer air tears apart and warrens into other universes open up. Thefirst, some scant human years agone, received a Sandgorgon for her steed. I ride a Jötunheimish giant-horse, father of proud Sleipnir. He sometimes complains about the weight of my armor, but, alas, for the grievances of duty must be borne. Even Effy sports a steed, and she might be best described as an eldritch Lovecraftian...errmm...creature. (In a broad sense of meaning.)

PS. Our Ironhand, spry and handsome at 2000, remains unwooed after the departure of her last mate.

Kecilyn is on his way, Soarback Grayhare! A very interesting match, I must say. He is smaller than most Ranyhyn. Which is not an issue, as you will not be riding. However, he laughs more than any Ranyhyn I have ever known. Have fun!

Many thanks. He has arrived. :yourock:

My cares are already leaving, but I'm afraid gallant Kecilyn is in for a long trip.

psychotica, Zophryn approaches. Best of luck!

FireSon, few can run with the Ranyhyn. Are you a relative of Amok? Do you have Sandgorgon blood in your veins?

Either way, you are welcome to join in their play!

*bows to the booming voice of the Plains.*

I am of the Earth, but not made like Amok. I am not a spawn of Kevin the Desecrater. As for being a Sandgorgon, no. There is no desire for destruction in my heart.

*Stands on the rock as a Ranyhyn comes near and pauses just long enough for me to slip onto her back. I then lay flat against her neck as she gallops and watch the sky fly by.*

There is no greater freedom. :-)
Be still heart, hold peace, and be still.

*bumped* because Sky clearly needs a ranyhyn, if at all possible!

(Looks like its been four years since a visit from the Plains of Ra. I dunno.)

I'm thinking Sky had turned down the opportunity to present herself waaayyyy back in the original thread, but I may be mistaken...

That may have been then; she still has the opportunity to offer herself to the Ranyhyn now, if she so chooses. Her experience as a minder of animals should weigh in her favor.

It remains to be seen whether the Plains will even consider a third-party offering such as Linna has put forth.

I'm pretty sure that a "third party offering" would not be considered; Sky would need to present herself. But, I think Linna's intent was to merely bring the opportunity to Sky's attention.

My memory may be faulty, but I do think a rhanyhyn presented themselves once, without the hopeful rider offering herself. IIRC, Lady Tam was bestowed that honor.

Of course I would be honoured to offer myself in service to the mighty raynhin .. not to ride but to serve in whatever way they deem apt. Should the mighty choose me .. my life would be complete.

sky humbly bows on the plains of Ra, before and respectfully submits herself as a choice.. to serve the mighty raynhin is indeed the highest of honours.

Yes, ^that.

...and was pretty sure Sky couldn't resist a bumped thread..
