Silver Surfer Spin Off Movie already being Written
Wow, JMS is apparently becoming all the rage in the movie screenplay writing arena. First Ron Howard bought The Changeling, which he turned over to Clint Eastwood to direct and fast track with Angelina Jolie starring, which started it all for him, then World War Z with Brad Pitt's production company and another movie announced "They marched into Sunlight. And now:
Feeling bullish on the eve of the release of its "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," Fox has already put a feature spinoff into development that will star the enigmatic Surfer, with J. Michael Straczynski currently crafting the screenplay.

So, the main actor will be CGI? That'll be interesting...I guess I'll have a better feel for the Surfer when I go to see FF 2 this weekend.

As far as I understand, however (this coming from one who hasn't seen the movie yet, as it hasn't been released here for the moment), there are hints that the purple giant might indeed appear in a future installment... and I'd still find him threatening if he looked like this:Usivius wrote:true, but it wouldn't have worked in a movie.
can you imagine a huge guy in purple and pink armour being threatening?...
nah, but they DID need to have some sort of image of him! C'mon!
A giant boot even!

Beorn has a very different POV regarding how Galactus was portrayed than the one that seems to be the consensus here, but he isn't making sense to me yet. Of coure, if I saw the movie it might be more clear to me. Suffice it to say, he was not disappointed in the portrayal.
Anyway, once he can state his thoughts cohesively, I'll encourage him to come address them here.

Well, since neither Hyperception nor I have seen this, Beorn and Hyperception are on their way to a 5:30 pm matineee showing. Perhaps Beorn will be able to firm up his impression of Galactus after a second viewing. If not, perhaps Hyperception will understand what it is he's having difficulty putting into concrete thought.

I think it was from Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, a computer game.Lord Mhoram wrote:Xar,
I saw the movie and I can say that from my POV, I agree with that assessment: it seemed to me that Galactus will return full form in a future film. At one point we get an outline of his helmet in the cosmos. And PS, where does that image of him come from?
