Actors who are hopelessly typecast no matter how many roles

Post by Cail »

You know who I'm talking about. Ned Beatty will always be remembered as "that guy from Deliverance".
Image
No matter how many other films he does, he'll always have a pretty mouth.

Similarly, this guy.....
Image
Will always be Nick Tortelli from Cheers.

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

Poor boy is doomed. He will always be Harry Potter.

Funny, I don't think of any of these roles when I think of either of these two. Especially Ned Beatty...I've seen him in tons of things.

And the other guy I'll always think of as Tom Hanks' boss in Joe Vs. The Volcano.

Anyone on any Star Trek series, ever. Except Enterprise, because no one watched that.

I'd have to agree. I haven't seen hide nor hair of Avery Brooks or Kate Mulgrew except for Star Trek specials.

Which is sad, because I LOVE me some Avery Brooks.

Absolutely. He was "disposable Asian martial artist guy" for years.

Dan Heyada was wonderful in Joe Vs. the Volcano. But he'd been Nick to me first.

Scott Bakula (sp?) will always mean Quantum Leap to me.

As far as typedcast actors...

Although when I think of Edward G. Robinson it's always from The Ten Commandments:

and when I think Cagney it's always from:

well I dont think of Dan Heyada that way. He is always a character actor to me.
I first saw him in Blood Simple and that character often pops in to my mind when I see him.
And he had a good turn in Alien 4...

And your Star Trek observation is good except for Patrick Stewart. He was and is a great actor that still works outside the series.
