The setting depends on how the Second Age ends :P Personally, I'm a bit partial to Eiran because it already has a history and lots of stuff I can use in the game - old artifacts, old gods, old characters and so on, and it can be fun to find once again that ancient artifact your previous deity built three thousand years before. But we'll see...

Yeah, I like that too. I'd like to view all versions of Pantheon as one meta-game. Can't do that if we start over somewhere else.

I suppose it all depends on how and when P2 ends whether P3 will be on Eiran, doesn't it?

I would prefer it to be Eiran, I think!

Back to my question about whether how a move is submitted affects the outcome - I've always assumed that by including everything in my turn (whether using DRP or domains or neither), I'm taking the focus away from the events that I consider most important. I take it I've been messing up then????

I always think it best to put as much detail as possible in, to avoid unwanted outcomes. Being specific is the best way to make sure things work only the way you want.

The best way to make sure things work out the way you want is to be evil.

I will prove you wrong in P3! I bet a round of drinks at the next Eloimfest that my good will do as well as your evil!

BTW...if we're expressing preferences, mine is to stay with Eiran.

...but y'all knew that already, I'm sure...

It's not even a matter of how you play and the things you do, it's just the nature of things. Compare...

-How often do Bhakti's followers decide to take up arms and march on the nasty deities' followers? That's certainly not good for them or my power, and they've been told often enough, for two generations of Bhaktis, not to do it. But they do it anyway. And I have to spend drps stopping it. Or an army of orcs attack my city. Either some of my people die, and the survivors have their faith shaken, or I spend drps to stop it.
-Compare to how many times your followers formed love cults. How many of your followers were swayed, and refused to Destroy or cause Suffering because they took it upon themselves to try to make the world better in ways that would help Bhakti? How much power have you had to spend wiping out such groups?

And things like adventurers and meteors bring death and destruction. Abominations spring up now and again. Anybody been plagued by a rift in the fabric of reality that spewed forth Love-demons?

The nature of Eiran is geared toward evil and against good.

And I won't even get into Xar's actions again! My grievances are a matter of public record.

If P3 is on Eiran, Bhakti will be back. But if we're elsewhere, sure! :D

You assume Bhakti survives P2

There is very little I assume. Not even my own survival. About the only thing I do assume, or, rather, the only thing I know is that I won't be falling to some two-bit punk who was stripped of his domains.

But, if we are on Eiran again, do we HAVE to play the same diety?

I wouldn't imagine so. Only Bhakti and Maeror returned from Pantheon 1, and even then it was a different Bhakti and a much amended Maeror.

I probably won't play the same deity in Pantheon 3, even if it is still set in Eiran. That may change however, depending on the outcome of a number of events in Pantheon 2, as well as how the game itself concludes.

Whoops. Yes, him too. :D

One thing I can be almost certain of - in Pantheon 3, regardless of where it is set or who gets in to claim domains first, I will not be the god/dess or magic.
