What if the goat WAS gay! Would that affect the way you feel about these books?
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

no, but it would change the way Dumbledore felt about goats!Cameraman Jenn wrote:What if the goat WAS gay! Would that affect the way you feel about these books?
after "7 yrs" of "marriage", this changes nothing?Esmer wrote:*shaking head*
Could it not be the simple matter that the marriage was already getting overly long, and he simply left things out that he revealed later in different ways?

I always suspected it anyway. Either he was gay or he and McGonagall were getting a little crazy monkey sex in on the side.

If I can say after 17 years of marriage a similar situation that has continued for three years changes nothing as far as that "marriage" goes, then I will answer yes, even this changes nothing.
It is irrelevant to the books themselves. It is nice to have a further detail, to know that Dumbledore once felt love, but it does not affect the overall story.

Well, it was supposed to be an embarrassing scandal involving Aberforth using innappropriate charms on a goat. What else could it be?

I'm thinking he confunded the goat to think HE, Aberforth, was a goat too! A very pretty goat....

Maybe he tried to do a reverse animagus spell on the goat... to make it human.Cameraman Jenn wrote:I'm thinking he confunded the goat to think HE, Aberforth, was a goat too! A very pretty goat....
Hmm now the question begs to be asked...
Was Filtch gay?
Was Snape?
Was *gasp* Lockhart a closet wizard Liberace? All those poor witches... heart broken.
Finch? Who knows (or cares)?
Snape? No. We know the gender of the person with whom he was in love.
Lockhart? Methinks the guy's love life was an open book--and it involved mirrors.
As for Aberforth, my pet theory is that he tried to give his goats wings.

I'm just trying to figure out how Dumbledore's being gay had anything whatsoever to do with the book or it's sub-plots, and secondly, what circumstances and historical data within the book, other than he wasn't seeing anyone, points out that he was gay, other than just declaring it for grins and giggles.
Heck, if the fact that Dumbledore wasn't seeing anyone is the evidence, reckon we can put Voldemort on that list also, along with a dozen or so lower echelon characters.

Grindelwald who by this time had went quite red in the face due to his frustrations expelled a gruff "bloody hell Albus, it would seem that my wand is not working at the moment". Dumbledore was quick, almost eager with a reply "do not fret Gellert, I think you may find that as clever as you most certainly are, I am even somewhat more so" "ERECTIS RIGIDUS!".
