I was a late bloomer and nearly 13 when I began reading/collecting comics, and that Hulk Annual had to have been among the first comics I read. The FF at the time were on the Skrull Home World (I recall those issues fondly too), and being intrigued by the Inhumans in the Hulk Annual, I went in search of earlier issues of the FF. I think that's when the collecting head of the Two-Headed Comics Bug bit me. Next thing I knew, I was after every Marvel Comic I could get my hands on, up to and including Millie the Model.dANdeLION wrote:I fondly remember the Hulk cover, but the story seemed kind of disjointed. I was already reading FF and Inhumans by the time I found a copy of Hulk annual 1, and the characterizing of the Inhumans seemed inconsistent with what I had already read. I only read it once, and that was a long time ago. Hulk Annual 7, however, is my favorite Hulk annual ever.
My dad wasn't crazy about my sudden interest in comics and tried to discourage me. When my uncle, who was an architectural model builder, and who at the time encouraged my budding artistic talent found out I was steering my drawing toward comic art, he was, let's call it, APPALLED! heh.
