Half Blood Prince, the movie!

Post by Cameraman Jenn »

I was just on imdb.com looking at the casting for some upcoming charactors and I must say that I think they did most excellent in casting Slughorn but Lavender? Not so much so. I think she looks way too old. What do you guys think?

I like Broadbent for that role. Except I imagined Slughorn being rotund.

As for Jessie .... hubba hubba.

To old? All the Potter Kids are like in their 20s now, right? They put Nair on the boys faces, give them bad haircuts, and pretend they're 16.

Anyway ... Jessie is less than one year older than Rupert. If they can kidify Rupert they can kidify Jessie, too.

Let's hope so because based on those pics she looks about 25 to me. 8) Also they will probably pad him up a bit for the role. They have done that to other cast members.

Her birth date is right there in IMDB. She's 20. Grint will be 20 next Aug.

I had the same thoughts, WF. She may be purposely made up to look older in that particular head shot.

And I love the facial expression on Broadbent on his profile page, but I also thought he needed to be more rotund. But Jenn is right, several characters have already been padded in the series to help them fit the description of them from the books better. Jenn linked me to a photo of Neville where you can even see the outline of the padding under his shirt in OofP.

She'll be fine. I for one cannot wait for Malfoy's chest to explode courtesy of Snape's special curse.

Well have to see just how big of a part in the film they give her... Luna who was a major character in OoTP didn't really have a chance to shine that much in the film she was there yes but well, you know.
Now Lavender may be just reduced to running around the Gryffindor Common Room shouting Won Won Won! and snogging Rupert Grint.
You know he's just looking forward to that... heh.

With a name like CAVE she's gotta be good. heh

That's what I'm talkin about! I really hope they do the pensieve scenes with DD and Harry...who doesn't want to see DD in a 3-piece purple pinstripe.

Here is an earlier trailer and a way cool one at that!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBGbKCm_pQQ

And I have no problem with the actress who plays Lavender Brown. People too often just take a glance at an actor or actress, review an earlier role or two then leap to conclusions. There was a message board where I used to go, and someone there sneeringly referred to Kate Beckinsale as nothing but a pretty stuntwoman. This was just after Underworld and Van Helsing came out. Never mind all the Shakespeare, Jane Austen, comedies and dramas she'd done. This guy didn't know anything at all about her, save two movies and that was it as far as he was concerned.

By that logic Johnny Depp would still be playing cops and Maggie Gyllanhall nothing but sexually submissive young women. Bah!

Pity about that, though...

First "official" review that I've seen...

Mr. Potter, meet Mr. Oscar...

Love, love, love this line...
Hey, the Lord of the Rings movies were nominated three years running, and I rank this right up there with those incredible films.

I can't wait! Only two weeks to go!!!

I always thought Lavender was black.

Ah well. *shrug*

I think the actress who "played" her (or the character who would be her) in Philosopher's Stone was black. Maybe.

This is the best Potter film yet! Yeah, there were some liberties taken and some stuff added, but man oh man, this was fantastic!!! I'm not going to say much more right now, because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it. But you MUST see it!!!

And Dan, Emma and Rupert...they are all exceptional actors now. Especially Dan. I can't see anyone else as Harry now. He was simply brilliant!

GO SEE IT!!! :D :D :D :D
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings
