I got a new cookbook called "The Veganomicon".

Now that sounds interesting, Orlion.

I just saw a sneak peak of the JCPenny Black Friday ad, and I'm seriously thinking of getting this pot and pan set as a starter set for Beorn when he heads off to college.

It's not a cookbook, but I read this site most days fore new recipe ideas: Allt om Mat

I got a KitchenAid 5Qt Artisan Stand Mixer for Christmas. Wrong color, but veeeery nice, nonetheless.
I tried to post a pic, but apparently I'm no good at that. Guess I need to practice some more later...

Where are you hosting the image of your KA, TM? Unless you upload it to the album, there is no way to upload it directly to the Watch. You have to host it on a photo site, such as image shack or photo bucket, and then use image tags to post in a thread.

I'm not hoting it. I'm pulling "properties" on an image on another site and using the location where they are hosting it. I can make it do that just fine on other boards, but I can't seem to make it do that here. No biggie.

Here is an image of Big Red, my KA.

Take a look at how I did that (quote my post and look at the code), and see if that helps.

I just got this thing:

...and it's freakin' awesome. My 'kitchen' these days is a power outlet, and with limited space and budget I initially hesitated to buy something that wasn't multifunction, but this was small, cheap, easy to use, easy to clean, makes great eggs (soft boiled, hard boiled, poached), and is generally a win.

Ooo, I've never seen that before, Sorus. Looks cool!

Can it be used in other ways, such as a vegetable steamer, the way a rice cooker can?

I don't see why you couldn't, technically, but the manual only has instructions for eggs.

Stone...
:whip:
I'd never heard that version before and would wager that neither had Menolly -- who should not look if she hasn't already.

Her FB post was pretty clear in both text and illustration that it was about the enamel-over-cast-iron cooking implement, not...what you referenced.

ewwww!

Will take your advice and keep my head in the sand regarding whatever it is stone is referring to...

But that reminds me, time to share the link on facebook again to encourage others to enter and reference me...

Found last night on clearance at Target:

In-Store Item/DPCI number 070-05-4545: OXO Softworks V-Blade Mandoline Slicer $41.39 --> $12.38

Image

Online reviews are so-so. Here's hoping it is nice. I generally like OXO products and have been wanting a mandoline for a while.

Cutting tools. From left to right: my normal kitchen knife, Chinese cleaver to cut stuff, heavy cleaver with thicker blade to chop bones and the knife the Vadress uses when helping me.
