Labor Day!

Post by Worm of Despite »

Been thinkin' about what to do come Monday (tomorrow for me, though Labor Day may be here for some of you already). Anyway, I believe Labor Day is a fine day for grilling inside the house. Yes, inside! That's what the ol' George Foreman is for. Also, it's for prime ribs! So, anybody else going to be doing something special food-wise?

The George Foreman is good for when I don't feel like going to all the trouble of setting up the grill, and it doesn't heat up the house.

I hadn't really thought about what I'm having to eat, or for that matter what I'm doing tomorrow. :?

I'll let you know afterwards. :)

I will be working tonight, but we had discussed late last week ordering out for pizza and pop...
It's been raining steadily since last night sometime. So no grilling outside for my husband and kids. They might use George Foreman inside, though.
Love as thou wilt.

Steady rain here too, Duchess. But that won't stop me from grillin'! If the rain doesn't stop in a couple hours, I'll cook under the carport! :) These babybacks are gettin' et TODAY!

I went to a hot springs with my boyfriend while my mom took wedding pictures for my former swim coach who got married there. It was a lot of fun! And in relation to this thread... I didn't cook! But their restraunt is supposed to be really good. A tad too expensive for me though, 50 dollars for beef wellington... whatever that is. Sounded good though.

Labour day? A day of enforced labour? :? Or a celebration of the Labour Party? :? ;)

I do have a couple of quick cultural divide questions for anyone willing to answer... What is Labour (or Labor, I suppose) Day, and what does George Forman have to do with it? :?

No Labor Day? Ack!! It's a day where we celebrate them hard-working Americans by pretty much giving the nation a Monday off. Makes me wonder too. Why call it Labor Day? Why not Non-labor Day or Work Sucks Day? Oh well. And of course, the George Foreman grill is self-explanatory--especially on Labor Day!

Ooooookay... I'll let the George Forman thing lie

Days off work for the nation here are called Bank Holidays. There's always one after Easter, and at random points throughout the year. Not much cause for celebration though, especially with more and more people being required to work on these days.

I cannot possibly drink from the goblet in front of you!

I can't remember all the preceding to-ing and fro-ing. I've only seen it a measly two and a half times  I'd never seen it til last year, when Helen (my girlfriend) introduced me...
