I personally have my doubts about the existence of Australia too .. I mean look at this place its stunning .. such diverse native flora and fauna .. its more surreal than real. Quality of life is awesome, sun shines almost all year round .. never gets colder than below 12C .. it snows and its tropical and its temperate etc. Could it be a superior alternative universe?
Tis a mystery, is what it is
keep smiling

Platypuses seems to be acceptable. I admit, they are one of the strangest creatures around (cute though!).
I hereby appoint you as the new spokesperson for this land (don't mention the deadly creatures though...)Skyweir wrote:

D'you know... I think I LITERALLY got to hear a sermon in which one example was "someone might claim Australia does not exist." (possibly because they could not see it? or they did not believe it was useful to them?)
It was a few years ago, and I was like, "Oh. I have got to tell them." (y'all.)
I would like to say that's some neat unexpected confluence.
But maybe it's not just us who have this Australia thing?

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."

A big chunk of beef.
Lots of kidney beans.
And some green chile.
(BTW, I finally accepted that I'm now a New Mexican when I went to the grocery store with a shopping list consisting of beer and green chile and nothing else)
