Here is the rule: Whoever answers a question correctly gets to ask the next question.

Which book did Free Lunch first appear in?

Book three was going to be my guess as well, but I decided to wait until someone who knew the answer came along. Instead, all I got was an equally lame guess from Skyweir. ;)

A Dark and Hungry God Arises is the correct answer. Your question, Skyweir.

As far as I remember there are 20 ships named in the cycle. I can name 19 off the top of my head (I don't remember the name of the ship that Sixten Vertigus travelled on when he first met the Amnion, Deep Star maybe), and of those 20 only two were Amnion, Calm Horizons and Tranquil Hegemony.
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

Damn! I don't remember the name of the ship he first makes contact with, or even which book it's in so that I can go looking.

It also looks like I need to update my list to 22 ships. :D

Thank you. :D

What are the three Earth-bound political divisions represented in the GCES whose names do not refer to a current continent?

OK. I know it was right, so I'll ask a question of my own:

What was the population of Billingate (as estimated by UMCPDA) before it was destroyed?
