An open invite to prove your loyalty, tell us who your team is (any sport), then smack your most hated rival, but be prepared to get smacked back. I happen to be a life long fan of the Cleveland Browns ( to a fault actually), and would love to see them kick the hell out of the Pittsburgh Squealers next season, that is if the referee's choose not to decide the outcome this time.

I am a big fan of Arsenal FC which play in the English Premier League. I also support my local football team Southampton FC wich play in the English Championship(One below Premierleague). I do like Rangers Fc, who play in the Scottish Premierleague, but they are more a team I just like in Scotland, rather than being a team I always follow.

Team I dislike are Tottenham Hotspurs, Arsenal North London rivals.
Manchester United big Premierleague and title rivals.
Portsmouth FC, Southampton's south-coast rivals.
Celtic, Rangers' Glasgow rivals.

I generally will support nearly all English and Scottish teams when they are facing competition from Europe, though.

Big Packer fan here. And as such, I have strong negative feelings towards the divisional opponents: Bears and Vikings (though not the Lions..... they're just pathetic  ). Though I have to say, I don't really hate the Vikings and Bears. I mean, I'd prefer the Packers beat them, but they're really fun games, and I do like it better when they're close. Even if that means loosing a game here and there. Maybe the Packers winning 3 out of every 4 (well, ok, maybe 5 out of 6.....)

But the team I hate...... Cowboys! Whithout question! No one I'd like to watch the Packers decimate more.

Well I'm a Rabbitohs fan by adoption, an Everton fan by birth, both teams giving real meaning to the word CLASS

It's funny how we cam mean different things with the same word. When I talk about a football match i mean Everton vs Liverpool in the Premier League, or Milan vs Barcelona in the championship League. Here in Australia, they would call these soccer matches. Soccer is a word no self-respecting sportsfan should ever utter, it's football, or footy. To an Aussie, the footy means either Rugby League, Union, or (if you're unfortunate enough to be so inclined) the abomination that is Aussie Rules.
I believe the Americans have a football code that is even sillier, but I think this might just be an urban myth.

I know two things about American Football:
1. All the players wear crash helmets, though they never ride motorcycles.
2. The squads cosist of about 350 players each side, and they have more than one half-time. I hope the guy who does the cut up oranges get paid a decent salary.

The Steeler's have a quarterback who used to ride motorcycle's. The Browns have a tight end, who used to ride motorcycle's. This tradition is now widely discouraged. The crash helmets are neccessary though, American Football is a sport that centers around speed, and violence. Its not enough to put the ball in the goal, or kick it through the uprights, these lads are out to hurt each other.

But they could hurt each other much more easily if they took off all the girlie padding, but then they would be playing rugby league...
btw, why is the game called grid iron?

The field is called the gridiron not the game. If rugby players hit each other as often and as hard as NFL defensive and offensive lineman hit each other everyone would be in the hospital or dead at the end of the game (without said 'girly' padding.) :P

Well the girls in the gridiron world aren't actually hitting each other at all, they're just slapping their shoulder pads or helmets against each other.
Though I believe Joe Theismann once hurt his leg a bit.

Well yesterday I took two buses (in the rain) to an overpriced, underdeveloped old concrete bin of a stadium, was charged like a wounded bull for warm beer and cold pies, and watched the mighty Rabbitohs get the living sh*t kicked out of them yet again. Haven't won a game all season. Will I be back next week? Oh yes...

the group hug belongs to Rugby Union, which is indeed a game for men who wear too much make-up and have way too much interest in women's lifestyles magazines. (Not that there's anything wrong with that)
Rugby League, the game really played in heaven, is a different kettle of broken jaws altogether.
