I've met Stephen R. Donaldson if that's who you mean by SRD but I don't really consider him a watcher. :P
Heh...yea...really more of "The Watched," isn't he?

RE that, vraith... lol, I saw an article about Tolkien a few weeks back, and... wish I could give you the wryly humorous quote, but it described how annoying he found the phenomenon of "becoming a legend in his own time," and having people ring his doorbell at odd hours of the night!
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

:LOLS: Very apt. :D

Anyway, technically he is a Watcher. He's a registered member of the site. And he's even posted once or twice.

Av, I suspect it would be cheaper for us to bring you to America for the 2014 Fest than for all of us Yanks to head to your neck of the woods. Not that it wouldn't be cool to visit Africa...

Av, we might be able to get into SA easily enough, but there are those among us who might have a little trouble getting back in here when we returned.

Better that you should come to us...

Well, technically, shouldn't they have been posted in General SRD, since it was a mini-fest?

Ahem. While it was a meeting of two Watchers and that is always a good thing, I believe it was ali herself who defined the bar which a mini-fest must achieve. Three Watchers is the minimum...and they ought not be related or members of a common household.
