When is the next book coming out?
I cant find any information on this anywhere. When do people expect the next book to come out? it wont take 3 years will it?
I read through all these forums and I couldn't find my answer anywhere and so I am reduced to having to start a new thread.

Expect to wait about two years from now.

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

I'm new here, but I have to say, I really love the forums!
As someone who suffered through the periods between Zelazny's Amber series releases, I'm somewhat concerned about waiting 5 more years to reach the end of SRD's Chronicles. With the Amber series, there was some speculation that with Zelazny's failing health, he had help writing the last book. And because of the length of time between books, I (and my friends) had way too much time to come up with our own great endings (in our minds anyway). We were very disappointed at the last book, because we had way too much built up anticipation.
Now I'm not saying that's going to happen here, but there are some scary parallels.
Zelazny was born in Ohio and died in NM when he was 58.
SRD was born in Ohio, lives in NM, and is 61.
Zelazny was a smoker, which ultimately led to his death. SRD doesn't smoke does he?
I'm a little scared is all I'm sayin'... Hopefully the outlines for the next two books are already written down somewhere, and a monkey with a thesaurus could finish them.

Every rule has an exception. Especially this one.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

I keep a copy of Fatal Revenant near my bed and reread sections to satiate my need.
When I visit the family home, I raid the bookshelves and carry off the first two chronicles. These I pile up near my guest bed and reread sections to satiate my need.
Not soon enough.

I'm also a new member - I didn't realise this forum existed until today. I've read TCTC since the beginning of time and read it again and again and again (I think about twelve times now). My favourite books of all time, I see parallels in my own life to that of TC. I still can't get this... WHEN? is there a specific date for the next book - I'm holding off reading the last series until they're all published and praying I'm around that long. Just a month would do! Can anyone contact SRD and get an idea?

A previous answer in this thread gives the next publication date as Oct. 2010.

Hello, First! Welcome to the Watch.
Donaldson has announced many years ago that the books will be released in 2004, 2007, 2010, and 2013. He's stuck to those dates so far; there's no reason to doubt that, in 2013, you'll have the whole series.
Now, reading them all at once denies you the joy of thinking about them, and discussing what might happen. Which is half of the fun of the Watch.

Many of us have developed speculative foot in mouth predictions.
But it all fun..
What's this silver looking ring doing on my finger?
