Fantasy films.
Can anyone name 10 fantasy films? Its tough. The utter lack of quality fantasy films is disturbing. I can name a few. In no particular order I might add. I did not consider animated cartoons or out right garbage. (Dungeons and Dragons)
1. LOTR – A shinning example of the best the genre has to offer even though the final film has yet to open.
2. Legend – Tim Curry’s performance and costume is amazing.
3. Willow – I wanted to like this film more than I actually did, but I do own it on vhs and pull it out every so often. Actually pretty cool.
4. Army of Darkess – Holy cow! I think I laughed straight through the first time I watched this. Terrible special effects but who cares.
5. Harry Potter – Hmmm…
6. Dragonheart – Thoroughly enjoyed it.
7. Dragonslayer – Impressive special effects for the time.
8. Excalibur – One of my favorite films fantasy or otherwise.
9. Monty Python and the Holy Grail – Tim, the Enchanter!
10. Merlin – Made for tv but Sam Neil is great!

Very cool list Danlo. I lumped all of LOTR together. Some of the films you mention I haven't seen or haven't seen in years. Brotherhood and Laydyhawke respectively. I do think the success of LOTR will blow open the possiblity for other true fantasy films of a high quality. I did notice that Harry Potter was missing in your list.

Sylvanus, in regard to AOD you took the phrase right out of my mouth. Hah! Danlo, I noticed Kull on your list. I collected the marvel comic for years. I bought the Kull dvd. I being a fan of the character I wanted to like that film a lot. I just didn't. Kevin Sorbo just isn't Kull to me. Its a good film otherwise. Its like when the american Godzilla came out a while back. It was a decent film but it wasn't Godzilla.

Yes I agree Sorbo wasn't dark enuff 4 me--I loved the books--that's why the ----------is over them: view at your own risk! I'm not pluged in2 the Potter thing whatsoever....
