Weird and Wonderful Ebay.

Post by Chrysalis »

As those that use online auction sites will know, you can find almost anything on Ebay. You will also find things you never thought possible!
While discussing this with some guys at work I decided to see if this is true. Being the cynic I am I was doubtful.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered 4 bids on my 'Piece of Purple String'.
Yep, thats right! STRING!

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190247539058&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=009

I thought I would share it here for amusment value (or to tempt any string collectors that may lurk around) and also ask what strange auctions people may have seen in their travels around the online world. Did you bid on them? What is the oddest thing you have heard being auctioned?
I once saw a little American town being auctioned off as well as some guy trying to sell his ex's wedding dress and posing for pictures in it.

I saw a guy selling his cold. He said he got the cold from Paul McCartney, who sneezed on him while he was sitting in the front row of a McCartney concert. I think his plan was to spit in a baggie and mail it to the winning bidder.....there was also a guy who had a ghost in a bottle who would only sell it to an expert on ghosts as the ghost was haunting him and he didn't want to sell it to someone just so it would haunt them.

He was trying to sell his cold?? Now that I hadn't come across before! How do people think of these things?

I have heard of haunted stuff being sold and i think anything with a slight paranormal theme gets lots of attention.

I have been trying to figure out how to make a realistic looking piece of "Jesus food" for a while now.
