Interesting! Good job, by the way. Not the way I pictured Bloodguard, but my imagination was never very good, so take my comments with a few grains of salt.
I love the effort! Keep it up!

Wish I could see the facial expression a little better. I might be confusing them with Ramen, but didn't the Bloodguard have tanned skin? Short vellum-like brown tunics with bare legs and feet? Jeez, I am going to have to read the books all over again, aren't I? Yay!! Super talent, Hue. Are you Hue Jackman, Sexiest Man Alive?
Heard my ears aright? Did not the gaddhi grant me this glaive?

Maybe it's just me, but the way the lighting hits his "pecs" makes them look just a tad feminine...

On Haruchai:
On "like Stowndowners in size and build":In Lord Foul's Bane was wrote:They were like Stonedownors in size and build, but they were flat-faced and brown-skinned, with curly hair cropped short. They wore short ocher tunics belted in blue that appeared to be made of vellum, and their lower legs and feet were bare.
On Ochre: golden-yellow or light yellow-brown; #CC7722; linkMost of the people were shorter than [Covenant] was-and considerably shorter than Trell - and they had dark hair, brown or black, again unlike Trell. But they were a stocky, broad-shouldered breed, and even the women and children gave an impression of physical strength.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. All your comments will be incorprecated in MK3 BG. The one thing that people have not remarked on is whether the face is flat enough?
Once again many thanks for your comments and I eagerly await further feedback.

Nice one hue of bone.
My only comment - I would think short sleeves for ease of movement.

I've seen how in your last pic you attempted to achieve that.hue of bone wrote:The one thing that people have not remarked on is whether the face is flat enough?
I'm not really aware of what you are capable of with the software you are using. So I'm not sure what kinds of comments can be helpful. To me, a "flat face" means a wide as well as flat nose, eyes that are not set far back into the head, and perhaps high cheekbones to frame the face.
Lots of people at one time or another had thought that Haruchai could be similar to a Polynesian, or a New Zealand aborigine, or a Nepalese, or an American Indian, or a Peruvian, etc. One thing in common is that they all convey a very exotic quality (at least, to western sensibilities), as well as strength. You couldn't go too far wrong in trying to capture some of that exoticness.

Here are some (in my opinion) good candidates for Haruchai faces.

(Someone's idea of Maori... maybe you can cut&paste?

Bravo, just the effect I was hoping for.
hehehe
Thanks for the feedback so far.
On a more serious note. If people could indicate which face they consider more Haruchai-like, that would be helpful
so either ;
