Brain teasers
1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?
2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?
3. There are two plastic jugs filled with water. How could you put all of this water into a barrel, without using the jugs or any dividers, and still tell which water came from which jug?
4. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?
5. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?
6. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it! In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out! Try to do so without any coaching!

2.
Spoiler
photography - take/shoot the picture, develop it (though it takes more than water), and then hang it up (or lay it on a mesh mat) to dry
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

1) The room with the dead lions.
2) Is "holding under water" what they do in a darkroom in all the movies and tv shows? So she shot his pic with a camera, developed it, then hung it on the wall?
Or they're REALLY REALLY into S&M.
3) Freeze the jugs and put the blocks of ice in the barrel?
4) ok, I give up. I want to go look at other threads now.
5) Not sure what to do here.
-January 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
-New Year's Eve/New Year's Day/My brother's birthday
There's gotta be a million possibilities.
6) Well, I've heard of the book without the letter "E", so I kinda had a hint.

I was thinkin about number 1 today... and I've decided that there really isn't a solution and maybe I was right with the friendly assassins afterall!
Because if one lion died of hunger the others would eat him and not be hungry anymore and then not die!!! And therein lies the geniusness of my primary choice of the assassins.
:D

yeah but 3 years is a long time....
i suppose it depends on the size of the room, number of lions, and if they would have killed each other, which is far more likely...

i do wonder how many lions could be eaten in 3 years... as, by my estimation, it takes a pride of lions a few hours to eat a whole wilderbeast... it would take less to eat a lion... so therefore taking into account that lions would need to eat at least once a day... after 3 years, you would need to have a room filled with over 1000 lions... now that would b one big ass room...
