Similar to the bar graph, but with each unit showing?
I could see that...

Yes. Good idea.

I could deal with that, if the city dot were gone.

(I don't think we need to know EXACTLY where the city is, anyway. It's not like you'll have a variably sized dot, to show the size of the city either.)

If I get one of the P4 slots, I'll recycle this id, and become Tulayev, God of Souls.

(Can you tell I need a fix? :D)

A fascinating idea.
Melusina might make an interesting Goddess of the Seas...
As he rushed to quench his thirst,
A fountain spring appeared before him
And as his heated breath brushed through the cool mist,
A liquid voice called, "Son of gods, drink from my spring".

The water tasted strangely sweet.
Behind him the voice called again.
He turned and saw her, in a cloak of mist alone
And as he gazed, her eyes were filled with the darkness of the lake.

So, we're already making plans for what we'll do when P3 is over?

I know that there's a lot more to The Numen that I haven't gotten to play. I would recycle them into P4.

"Making plans"?? I have my overall gameplan, and wrote out the first five turns back in August. No, this kind of planning never helps me do any better than anyone else. I just can't help myself.

Perhaps you should be focussing on what to do to save P3.

As soon as I find out the specifics of the threats, I will. I have great plans for P4, but I want P3 to go on for a long time first. Don't worry, Zephyr will save Eiran. :D

Nah, I'm just getting into P3 again...not in a rush for the next one. Still much to do.

I'm considering whether it would be feasible to request all players in P4 to keep their identity a secret from others... on one hand this would hopefully prevent characters whose players know each other from gravitating towards natural alliances; on the other, I can't monitor each communication so I couldn't prevent players from sharing who they are via PM or e-mail or whatever else. I could of course encourage players to keep their identities secret - and I think it would be really fun to do so - but I'd like to know whether you'd agree to this or if you'd be likely to blurt out who you are playing at some point.

Of course, keeping identities secret means that it might be hard to comment things out of character without accidentally revealing one's identity, but apart from the fact that this would perhaps encourage roleplay in the game thread, I thought there would be one way to allow additional interaction. Resurrecting the "Hallowed Dome of Pelendra" thread idea, we could have a thread representing a meeting hall of mortal characters (priests, farmers, whatever), not necessarily affiliated with their player's deity (or even with any deity). These characters could comment on what's going on in the world, giving players a way to discuss things without revealing who their deity is. Sort of a bunch of people gathering together to talk about that god's obliteration of a city, or the new temple they're building in another city. More roleplay though (so it depends on the goodwill of players). And of course the comments thread could still be there, only players should take care not to accidentally reveal who they're playing as, either consciously or unconsciously.

What do you think? Would you be willing to keep your divine identities secret from each other? Do you think it would enrich the game and prevent the same old alliances from forming when the game begins? Above all, do you think it would be feasible, and/or do you have suggestions for how to modify the idea above?

Not worth the effort, in my experience.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

My characters all seem to have a similar mindset, no matter how much I try to differentiate them at creation. And I despise not knowing who is who, so usually do not keep my identity secret from the start.

It also seems in the deity games that most like keeping their plans and actions as secret as possible, unless someone is stirring up conflict with someone else. A shame. I love reading stories and interactions...
