Pretty good. Not as good as Bad Taste, though.

Loved the movies even though they dont follow the books exactly.

I remember the first time I watched FOTR......the feeling was overwhelming. :)

Jackson did an awesome job. And I realize you can't fit all the books into the movies. What's there is done beautifully. I don't like some of the changes tho. Like no Tom Bombidill and so forth...but all in all, they are awesome!! Gandalf's fight with the Balrog brought out gasps of "YES" and "AWESOME" Helm's Deep was over-embelished, but WOW, what a battle scene it was! And when Gandalf and Eomer come charging down that hill...incredible. He also did a fantastic job with Gollum. Hobbiton, Isengard, Moria, Rivendell, Lothlorien, Edoras, Gondor, and oh yes, Mordor are all as I've always envisioned them to be. The visuals and effects and costumes and weaponry are excellent!

So, I can live with the subtle changes made to the story. When I first heard they were making movies, I groaned. I didn't think they could possibly put this story on the screen without butchering it. Then as time went on and I watched how it all came together, my mind slowly changed. This is movie making at its best. And I will treasure my copies of them as much as I treasure my copies of the book. :) :)

Yes, they are well made, acted, cgi and all that. What I'm looking for is the promise made by Jackson on the TTT special features DVD disk is that there's a 4 DVD disk edition of the films which will have a lot of that which ended up on the cutting room floor.
Seems that Jackson and company realized that the REAL fans (ones who read the books faithfully) needed more. So perhaps scenes of Entdraught, Tom Bombadill and others will be created for those of us who are willing to sit through six or eight hours of film.
I mean jeez it takes me about a month to read through each book.

Great movie(s) and as faithful as hollywood can get.

Yeah, the movies are great! I too can live with the minor changes (my biggest beef was putting Arwen on a horse and giving her a sword
And that whole thing with Aragorn falling off a cliff to his supposed death....but Oh well. ) I've never gotten so many goosebumps and leaky eyes watching a movie before. And it's every time I watch them. Watching the ROTK trailer literally makes my cry with happiness.

How many of you would would like to see Jackson bring "The Hobbit" to the screen? I know he has stated that he has no intention of doing that. But, I think it would be great if he did. Just wondered what everyone else thought about the idea. :)

I remember reading an interview with Ian McKellen, where he mentioned that what he'd really love to do would be a lengthy TV miniseries of "The Hobbit" - say, one episode for each chapter, and really stick almost everything in it.

There's not much hope of that, but I think it would seriously rule. And "The Hobbit"'s episodic structure is almost perfect for that format.

Oh, that would be cool I really liked the "Merlin" miniseries with Sam Niel. That was done very well. If they could pull it off, I think that would be awesome. I would like to see Jackson do it too, tho. He has done such a fantastic job with LOTR, I'm sure if he did "The Hobbit" it would be outstanding. :)

Yeah, well Ian McKellen can produce the Hobbit Mini-series himself with the monies he's made from the movies and what-nots. Or hell, even a direct to video format would be good.
It would be nice to have it as a companion to the LOTR videos because I've always read the hobbit first before launching into my annual reading of LOTR
