There it is: SUBMITTING YOUR MOVES

Odin wrote:Of course, you can go all out, like Pam will, and write thousands of words of story and dialog to say all that. It might even be helpful, because it might give me clearer insight into what you have in mind. Really, it's up to you.

...actually, I started writing my stories for my Pantheon submittals because I was told I had to...
(part of the AllFather's insistence that I "stretch and grow" as a player, once I pretty much decided to stop posting stories in thread there)
*grumble*

I will gladly not write stories, unless I feel the need to do so in game at some point...
Odin wrote:Even though it's lots of fun to make fun of Pam, her enthusiasm is second to none! :D
heh.
Maybe second to one.
You don't see me attempting to run a Pantheon knock-off game on the Watch...

...thanks SomeFather, sir...

Love is the answer
Shine on us all, set us free
Love is the answer

And when you feel afraid, love one another
When you've lost your way, love one another
When you're all alone, love one another
When you're far from home, love one another
When you're down and out, love one another
All your hopes run out, love one another
When you need a friend, love one another
When you're near the end, love one another
We got to love one another

OK, close enough! :D Heh. Nergal can join in whenever.

Deadline for Turn 1 submittals is Friday, March 13, 11PM GMT. Since it's only the first turn, and you only have 1 DRP, that should give people time to ask more questions if they're still unclear about anything.

Maybe not. Never know what my evening is gonna turn out to be here. No biggie. Anybody can join the game any time, so, as long as you post your Rev before you start posting in the Game thread and send in your turn, it didn't matter if you posted it Friday morning. 7 out of 8 is good enough to get started. :D

Also, I'm a little fuzzy about the drp thing. We have one village now that is a freebie? correct?

I think I'm understanding things a bit better. Thanks for the info :)

Oh, and am I the only one that sees "sunflower" when someone calls Odin "Somefather"?

Diana, Lliannon Aine is laffing herself silly over your "wet dreams" comment to her...hehehe ;)
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

From what's been said in the rules, I think our 1st DRP is a freebie for just being in the game with a Prophet. We still need to convert our first village...I think.
Odin wrote:DIVINE RANK and POPULATION
You start with a DR of 1. Get worshipers, and go up in DR.

A standard village has 1,000 inhabitants. I'm trying to think of it in terms of controlling villages, rather than number of followers. We'll see if it works out this way. So then,
-Controlling 2 villages gives a DR of 2.
-Controlling 10 villages gives a DR of 3.
-Controlling 20 villages gives a DR of 4.
-Controlling 50 villages gives a DR of 5.

SO, UH, HOW DO I PLAY?
For new players, and so old players understand my particular way of thinking... If some being came to you claiming to be the God of X, would you believe him? I think a demonstration would be in order. The Revelations posted so far (the first four), are doing this. Each deity approaches one person, and claims to be the deity of X. The person believes it because the deity acts in that domain. Excellent. You have Prophets.

Getting your Prophet is a freebie. No DRPs were required. From here on out, you're gonna have to use DRPs to make others believe you are who you say you are. And you need to make others believe you are the deity of X. You can't do much with the lone DRP that you get just for being in the game. You need more DRPs to do much - to have fun in the game - and you need more worshipers to get more DRPs.

*snip*

In Turn 1, you can use your lone DRP to give your Prophet's voice even more power. That will get you your first village. (Heck, in Turn 2, you can do the same, and get your second village, which means your second DRP.)

There you go, I've butchered a classical text for you. ;)

Butchering in the name of Odin, eh? Sounds like you're off to a fine start! :D And it's a classic that I never heard of before, so thanks for the education.

As Menolly says. You have 1 DRP. You have a Prophet. Now go get a village. You've all already told me which one you're trying for, and what you will name it. Assuming you manage to convert it. hehe

Oh dear...

If that's not asking for a reinforcing submittal story, I don't know what is...

Feels the small tickle of an idea germinating.
...oh, this is going to be fun. just how much can I torture the SomeFather with my attempts at writing? ;)

Ah, ok, thanks all.

Furls, hehehe, yeah, that came to my while I was writing it and I thought it would get a fun laugh. It fit in pretty well with the demeanor of my character.

Oh!
Sometimes I am just so dense.

I had noticed you said you edited your reveal, caam. But I couldn't figure out the edit.
Then I noticed The SomeFather said "Nadia" was your prophet, and I remember saying to myself when I first read your reveal, "Ah, it's a shame her prophet is Nadine, and not Nadia. With the play on names in this game, Diana and Nadia would be a good fit."

So, am I remembering right? Did you change your prophet's name in your edit? Or did I read it wrong from the beginning?

Well, one lucky deity sent in a submittal way before deadline, and has already received results! :D If anybody does anything to mess with that deity, I'll have to change the results. But that's not likely. So Aesir is officially moving right along!

Heh, the prophet is Nadia. I got mixed up and called her Nadine.

But, that wasn't the edit. I just added something different in the story that I had thought of after I had posted which I thought was pretty cool.

It was just a creative writing thing and nothing of significance.

Whoa...

A G-d of Reality?
Does that mean the perception of every little thing around us can suddenly shift?

This will be an interesting domain to see what is done with it...

Looking forward to your reveal, Ceanusar.
