Just barely.

Even in their current plight, I reckon Stockport could stick two past Azerbijan.

well another load of games have been played and Southampton manage to lose their game, which puts them second from bottom on the table :(

On the other hand Arsenal won their game! C'mon Arsenal :D

Liverpool and Chelsea have done very well in groups which, I'd say, are tougher than Arsenal and United's, who I would still expect to qualify. Looks like Celtic got saddled with the hardest group of all, so it's no wonder they aren't getting anywhere. What's happened to Roma this year?

Saw this in the Guardian the other day and thought it was pretty funny:
12 Aug 2003:
In our interview with Sir Jack Hayward, the chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers, page 20, Sport, yesterday, we mistakenly attributed to him the following comment: "Our team was the worst in the First Division and I'm sure it'll be the worst in the Premier League."
Sir Jack had just declined the offer of a hot drink. What he actually said was "Our tea was the worst in the First Division and I'm sure it'll be the worst in the Premier League." Profuse apologies.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

Chelsea have done really well. At the start I was questioning them and their ability but now they have had a great run in the Champions league, reaching the knock out stage with all games unbeaten. They have also reached the top of the Premiership. They lie at the top.
Arsenal are the most disappointing, having had draws in most of their CH games. The Premiership was going well until the defeat at Manchester United, then they drew with Crystal Place and nearly lost to Southampton, which is the bottom team. This left them second.
Manchester United have been one of the most unlucky teams in the CH and Premiership. They had most of their team injured in there first game and they still have some of their team out. They have gone down a bit since defeat at Portsmouth but I have high hopes for them in the CH (when they get a full team back). They lie at 7th.
Liverpool have been an interesting team. After losing Owen, we throught they would fall a bit but they got a new striker Cisse. They have had a bumpy run in the CH and in the Premiership. They are still in the chance of the CH but after losing Cisse their motivation has dropped. There Premiership run also has its ups and downs, especially when they lost to Birmingham last weekend. They lie at 8th
Newcastle have had a great run in the UEFA Cup, winning all their games. They had lost their manager Sir Bobby Robson but after getting Graeme Souness their performance has picked up. In the Premiership they have had a good run but after the two defeats from Fulham and Bolton. They lie 9th,
Middlesbrough have had the best run they have ever had. It is their first time in Europe and they have manage to win every game so far. Ad for the Premiership, they lie at 5th at the mo and it looks like they could go in for the CH. They lie 5th.
Southampton have by far been the most unlucky team in the whole Premiership. After losing the Paul Sturrock, they have relied of the Head Coach Steve Wigley. Not only that they have lost all their strikers to injury. They have not won in 10 games and at the mo they goal keeper have got off injured. They lie at 18th.
Blackburn have had just as much bad luck as Southampton. They lost their Manager to Newcastle Graeme Souness. They soon got a new manager Mark Huges of Walse but so far they have not won in 10 games. they lie at bottom.
Portsmouth have had the best run they have ever had. They came up last season and people did not think they would last but they palled themselves up and they are one of the best teams even beating Man U 2 - 0. They lie 10th.
Aston Villa have had an ok run in the premiership. They are doing what they usually do, hang around at the top. They lie 6.
Bolton have had one the best starts any Premiership team could have. They have most their games and they could go in for the CH. They lie 4th.
Everton are my star team so far. They have had the best start to any Premiership team. After selling Rooney, everyone thought they would go down but they have pulled themselves up and are hopefuls to get into CH and they could take on the Premiership title (if they are lucky). They lie at 3rd.
Brimingham had a bad start to the season but they pulled back a few games i.e. beating Liverpool 1 - 0. They lie 12th.
Charlton nad Fulham are the same as Birmingham. Charlton lie at 11th and Fulham lie 14th
Crystal Place were through to go down but they have picked themselves up by drawing with Arsenal. They lie 16th.
West Brom thought they were safe then they won some games but they lost their manager and they felt the pressure. They lie 17th.
Norwich were a hopeful to stay up but they have not won a single game. They lie 19th.
Tottenham have had a bad start. We throught they would have a good run with all the good players but they have falling by losing their last 4 games. They also lost their manager. They lie at 14th.
Manchester City were a hopeful to go down after last seasons run but they maintained a steady run. They lie at 13th.
Celtic have had a really bad run in the CH. They were hoping to make an impact in Europe but have not done so, so far. This might be because they have lost Larsson. They remian top in the Scottish League.

Poor Cisse. He's been involved in a crash with a police car since his leg break too, I think he might have knocked down a hall of mirrors that was full of black cats or something.

Well... the time has come.

Southampton Vs Portsmouth

Two rivals. Southampton need to lift themselves off the bottom three, while Portsmouth want a place in Europe. Who will win?
