I'm not laughing. I find the idea pretty intriguing.Demondime-a-dozen-spawn wrote:LMAO!lorin wrote:Trell - now dont laugh....... James Gandolfini
Sorry, that's damn funny. I'm still laughing.
The dude is an actor, after all. I'm sure he doesn't talk like a mobster all the time.
This, however, is the best idea I've heard so far...

Yup, that actress is Grace Jones.Effaeldm wrote:Very good choices, I particularly like Hugh Laurie, Susan Sarandon, Kevin Klein and Peter O'Toole. I don't know the actor proposed for Vain, but the look is very fitting)

I just watched an episode of DS9, and Rene Auberjonois' raspiness and authoritative presence caught my attention. I think he would be asesome as Prothall.

HA! I never knew there was a fan club for this stuff. I read these books (the first 2 trilogies) in the eighties. I just uncovered my (some first editions) books from boxes, and saved them from a garage sale. Started to look up value and stumbled here.
What interest it perked when I saw a film forum here! Too bad it sank, what a bummer.
Hugh Laurie is a great option. If he's too busy enjoying his royalties, Chris Cooper seems to be quit versatile. He can cover the nice guy, mean guy and the troubled guy. Everyone has likely seen him in movies, but he hasn't been big enough to get his name in everyone's head. I think he's one of the best actor's no one knows by name.
Director makes a huge difference in movies to. Good actors can end up in stinkers because the direction is poor. LOTR/Hobbit director is too "cheery" based on what was delivered, not saying he's bad, just cheery. Maybe Bigalow or Greengrass can make the jump to SciFi/Fantasy.
Good evening.[/img]

Julianne Moore is a great choice for Linden Avery in my opinion - in fact my internal visualisation of Linden is pretty close to how Julianne Moore looks.
If the 1st Chronicles were to have been filmed in the 1980s or early 90s I would have proposed Anthony Hopkins as Thomas Covenant, even though I always visualised him as looking like a young James Caan. As it is both would be too old for the part now, so instead I would go with Guy Pearce.
John Leguizamo would make an amazing Harrow, and Kathy Bates as the Mahdoubt would be awesome too.
Christian Bale as Caerroil Wildwood? Liev Schreiber as Trell? Charlize Theron as Elena?
Christopher Walken is a must as Kasreyn by the way!

I might believe Dave Tennant as Amok, but in no way could I picture him as Bannor.John Wilkinson wrote:My choices would be............lorin wrote:Okay, so I have had the final casting call and my decisions are final....
