Interesting ....

IIRC, Sorry/Apsalar was re-united with her dad, and they went back to their fishing villiage.

Maybe Pust found a new "mule"...

Also IIRC, there was something that corresponded between the mule and the father. The mule had one leg too long, and the father had a funny arm, or something along those lines.

I only read this thing once. It hasn't all stuck in my head yet.

Yes, Pust's mule in Deadhouse Gates is definitely Apsalar/Sorry's father:
Pg. 76, US ed. "I am not your servant, Mappo said cooly, stepping back. "Nor do I carry wine when crossing a desert."

"Not you, barbarian! The man glared about. "Where is he?"

"Who"

"Servant of course. He thinks carrying me about is his only task - ah, there!"

Following the man's gaze, the Trell frowned. "That is a mule, sir. I doubt he could manage a wineskin well enough to fill a cup."

Still sitting on the ground, the man collected a handful of sand and flung it at the mule. Startled, the beast brayed and bolted toward the cleft, disappearing into the cave...

"...Ah, here comes servant."

A wide shouldered, bow-legged man in black robes emerged from the cave, carry a tray bearing a jug and clay cups.
Later it comes out that Servant is Apsalar/Sorry's father. And yes, there is also mention of the mule having an umblemished limb similar to Servant's regenerated arm.

In the little we see of Pust in House of Chains, he is mule-less.

Perhaps someone is turning people into mules.

Or people have been naughty on Pleasure Island.

I'm stymied now.

i'm just certain there's some mention of a mule between bugg and tehol.
are you sure bugg doesn't have a mule?
you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

Well it does put a new spin on Pust's accusations regarding his wife...
