Sksyeeker reverses course, and one of her hand axes whirls out sidearm, disappearing into the giants thigh with a torrent of blood....the towering behemoth collapses, gasping its last.

Laurel heals Kalindriel! (21 points)

There are three possible next opponents....

The large Undead from before

A pair of bizarre outsiders..bipedal lobster/squid hybrids by look.

there is even a group of kobolds scurrying across the battlefield, chittering as they move....

Anna watches the giant fall, and smiles grimly.

She scans the creatures on the horizon and says "I don't really know about you, but I'm not particularly eager to face the ones that look like lobsters. They're a little too armored and too strange for my tastes. I'd rather the Kobolds or those reanimated-looking fellows over there. Also, could one of you lovely ladies help me with a spot of healing before we head out?"

At the volk duskblade's request for further healing, the invisible bard moves next to the half-elf. Still singing her Healing Hymn, Laurel reaches out to touch Annalysei as a golden glow spreads from her hands over the volk.

As the glow fades, the bard takes a look at the five kobolds. Working her knowledge of races in to her Hymn, she sings:

"One is a fighter, being dressed in plate mail with sword and shield. One is a cleric of Tar Rozaa. Do you see the one with a bow who has a wolf trotting at his side?

"Three of the remaining are spellcasters, but I am unsure of what kind. And the last two are two separate classes, but I am unable to determine what they are at all."

Looking at the three battles, the bard thinks to herself that Annalysei and Sigrid would be most effective against the Hulking Corpse Undead, whereas she herself currently has means left which would be slightly more effective against the piscoloths, even with their resistance to magic and fire or cold and immunity to acid or poison, and the kobolds.

...should she have the opportunity to use them.

Spot Check results:
Since Hulking Corpse have DR 5/bludgeoning and magic, the Wraith Slayer should be especially effective against them and Sigrid could do what she can to Turn Undead. Laurel can attempt to cast Armor Lock against the fighter kobold, and she still has a few enhanced arrows effective against "Evil Outsiders" for the piscoloths

Kalindriel panics when theinvisible Bard first touches her while hiding. She relaxes a little as the healing energies flow over her, but still mutters something about needing to get in better touch with her inner shadow. [Laurel's spot versus Kali's hide was so lopsided it's comical. 19-2 :mrgreen:]

She scans the field from atop one of the fallen giants. "I feel sorry for those little reptillian things. They must be freezing. Maybe they'll negotiate once there isn't anything else left to put up a fight. Daemons or giant zombies. Neither is particularly appealing, but I say we make the dead thing more dead."

While she's musing and the party discusses and heals up, she sits heavily upon the giant and pulls her boots off, tossing them at its head. "These things are murderous. Can't see the appeal in them at all." She rubs her feet a bit then stands back up to scan the field some more.

Led shifts back to his more human-looking form, and walks over to Sigrid, looking meek and wounded, hoping for healing. While she does her thing, he looks from the undead... thing to the lobster/squid... things. He barely glances at the kobolds before deciding there's no glory in their death. They've survived on this battlefield for some time, so they must actually be puissant, but... what good is there in saying "I killed a bunch of kobolds. No, they were really strong kobolds. No, really."

In the end, the idea of a giant undead behemoth sounded more impressive than a pair of strange aquatic things on land.

"That thing."

Sigrid heals Led as the giant crumples, and then again as he decides the Undead thing is worthy of his attention. (heal 20 and heal 25)

as everyone moves forward to the animated monstrosity.....

Setting her Hymn to linger while the party is not in dire need of further healing, Laurel picks up her inspiring tune once again as she nocks one of her enhanced arrows to her bow while moving 30' to the northwest.

Led sprints off, positioning himself for a flanking attack next round.

Skyseeker runs ahead, cutting to the right to create a clear line of fire.

Kalindriel flies up, a ways behind Skyseeker, and casts her spell upon the huge Undead thing...to no avail.

The Hulking Corpse lurches forward ponderously.

Annelysei runs forward, pulling ahead of Skyseeker, eying the foe from merely 15'.

Sigrid casts her spell, and three brilliant motes of energy flash into the wretched body! (17 points)

Skyseeker calls out an affirmation to Kalindriel, and hefts a javelin, eying the misshapen features of this abomination, while glancing tover to pick her path to the northeast.

Kali sees the Undead lumbering towards them. She flies east a bit then arcs back using the northeastern hedge to conceal her position.

Pulling one of the stored scrolls out of her quiver, Laurel opens it and does her best to cast the spell on to the towering Undead while continuing to sing, dropping out of invisibility as she does so.

Anna moves closer to the undead, watching her comrades, and trying to move into position so that others can flank. Once she's in position, she strikes with a full attack.

[OOC: DM, can you please move me wherever it is that I need to go to flank? Not so good with the spatial geometry]
