Dad charged with groping nurse during childbirth
(AP) – 15 hours ago
OGDEN, Utah — Authorities say a Utah man accused of groping a nurse who was helping a woman giving birth to his child has been charged with forcible sexual abuse.
Adam Jay Manning was charged with the second-degree felony Tuesday.
Police have said the 30-year-old brought a pregnant woman Friday to a hospital in Ogden, about 40 miles north of Salt Lake City. A nurse came to help the woman, and Manning allegedly made a comment about how cute she was.
Ogden Police Lt. Loring Draper has said Manning then told the nurse something looked wrong with her neck and attempted to massage it before grabbing her breast.
Manning was arrested and missed the birth of the child.
A message left by The Associated Press for Manning's court-appointed attorney was not immediately returned Thursday.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Very well, Brinn...here is a link to an article with a picture of this miserable excuse for an adult male:
This offense is just the tip of the iceberg. Subject has multiple prior offenses (shoplifting and criminal mischief), a sentencing record that suggests either mental health or substance abuse issues, and a month-old outstanding warrant for parole violations.
One feels sorry for the woman bearing his child -- no indication whether they are married -- but since his first conviction was in February of 2008, she presumably knew what she was getting into before the pregnancy began.
Well, at least he was still in her life and took her to the hospital. Maybe he just has severe impulse-control issues. Charitably, that could explain the whole sad saga...

Terrible. =(VERSHIRE, Vt. -- A Vermont man is behind bars after police say he stabbed his son with a corkscrew over a clogged toilet.
Nazeih Hammouri, 53, of Vershire, faces a first-degree assault charge in connection with the Monday morning stabbing.
Vermont State Police said they were called to Hammouri's home on Parker Road just after midnight and their investigation revealed Hammouri had stabbed his 19-year-old son in the stomach after an argument over a clogged toilet.
Police said Hammouri was drinking. He is being held on $15,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Orange County Court Monday afternoon.
